In an interview New York’s Hot 97 radio station today, Mariah Carey confirmed that ‘Love Story’ will likely serve as the third single from ‘E=MC²’. Elaborating further, she revealed actor Nick Cannon will both feature in the clip for current single’ Bye Bye’ as well as that of ‘Love Story’, citing a storyline tie-in similar to ‘It’s Like That’ and ‘We Belong Together’ from the ‘Mimi’ record. Having dropped the light mid-tempo in the form of ‘Touch My Body’ and now the ballad ‘Bye Bye’, the most logical move IMO would be to release club banger ‘Migrate’ next. Granted there’s a strong likelihood that the track will at some point receive the single treatment (according to Mariah), delaying what will inevitably be a hit, especially in favour of ‘Love Story’ doesn’t make much sense to me.

bye bye and love story are hot. i think they will be great single. i think she saving the best for last. although im not a fan of migrate alot people love that joint so i think it will be release later
F*** Mariah!! The song sucks just like her album. Janet is and forever will be better than her raggedy ass. Before anyone asks why I brought in Janet name, its cus she is always being belittled cus of Mariah. Def Jam need to wake the f*** up and realize they have a legend that can still do as good as she used to unlike Mariah whose voice is gone!!!
love story was my fave on the album until i heard the masterpiece that was “for the record”. that should be a single too and Migrate shoulda been the second single instead of the cheesy “bye bye”.
I love all the songs on the album, including “Love Story.” However, I don’t think it should be the next single. Mariah seems to be picking all the songs SHE likes as singles. That’s great, but if she wants to see commercial success, she needs to make choices that hits all markets. Another ballad after “Bye Bye” isn’t a good idea. She should put out “For the Record” if it’s going to another ballad. That is, IMHO, the best song on the record.
If they are going to go with a ballad they should definitely release “Stay in Love” not “Love Story.”

so i take it that you like janet’s album. it is beter than e=mc2. what janet cant sing or perform. not true if she couldn’t sing we wouldn’t like her songs as much as we do, versus someone whose vocal fate away. janet voice is very distinctive and melodic.
Love Story is HOT! I’m loving it… It kinda reminds me of “We Belong Together”. And as for that Janet comment, i’m gonna leave that one alone.
Trust me, Mariah and Island know what they are doing. Anything she puts out with JD attached to it, is gonna be a hit. While “Love Story” is a slower song, it has a hip hop beat to it. People get tired of hearing rap and other crap all day long. I am glad she is doing something slower.

All the slow songs on her cd are good. I don’t like migrate, more like migrane when I listen to that one. Love story is really, good. I love last kiss though. That might be my favorite song on the cd.

Hey, you need to change your story or take it down. She never confirmed it was the 3rd single, only that it was one of her and LA Reid’s favourites.
Thirtydaes you took the words right out of my mouth…Love Story or Migrate(though I’m not personally a fan) should have been the 2nd single, but For the Record is the business as is I’m That Chick and Last Kiss.
I like Love Story but I’d much rather have Side Effects as a single, although i don’t like the Young Jeezy verse (it skrews up the song).
