According to our good friends over at Rap-Up.com, Ciara has spent the last few months recording her 4th studio album with hitmakers The-Dream and Tricky Stewart. The record is said to be almost complete!
Christopher “Tricky” Stewart and his songwriting partner The-Dream have been secretly spending the summer in the studio producing the entire follow-up to Ciara’s Fantasy Ride. Stewart broke the news to Rap-Up.com in an exclusive interview. “We’re doing the whole project,” he reveals. “We’re pretty good into it at this point. We’re about 14 songs deep right now.”The 23-year-old ATLien relocated to the West Coast to work on the album with Tricky and Dream, who crafted “High Price” and “Like a Surgeon” off this year’s Fantasy Ride. “She came out to L.A. to work with us. We’re out here making this record ’cause it feels good and the vibe is good,” says the Grammy-winning producer.
The as-yet-untitled effort will feature danceable tracks that have become Ciara’s signature. “This record obviously is gonna have tempo to it, but I think it’s gonna have even more substance than the last record,” Tricky discloses. “She dances and we always want to bring out what she does that other people don’t.”
Although Fantasy Ride boasted collaborations with a who’s who of the industry including Justin Timberlake, Chris Brown, and Ludacris, the “Love Sex Magic” singer will be riding solo this time. “This album we wanted to take a few steps back and make it more about her, so the only feature is Dream. But the features that we do on this record will be remixes.”
The hitmaker even shared a couple song titles with Rap-Up.com. “I love ‘Speechless.’ I love this record called ‘Gifted.’ Those are two of my favorites. ‘Speechless’ is the record with her and Dream together.”
While there’s still the possibility of a release by the end of the year, it’s looking like 2010 will mark Super C’s return. “It’s a little up in the air, but there’s a chance that it might come this year. That was the goal, but at the same time, we didn’t want to rush anything. I think it’s looking more like a next year thing.”
Ciara is pulling out all the stops to make this her best work yet. “Right now, she’s on her grind, coming back, trying to make a better album than she made last time and get back to that mark where everybody knew that she was in the top tier of the female business.”
This definitely feels like it came out of nowhere; it’s a welcome surprise though. While ‘Fantasy Ride’ wasn’t a masterpiece, I definitely feel the project didn’t garner the success should have. What ever the reason for the album’s hate-to-say-it ‘tanking’, it’s great to see Ms. Harris dust her self and not waste time on redeeming herself with a new record. Here’s hoping she, The-Dream and Tricky serve up the hotness.

I love her music, I am a HUGE stan. I will def buy, I hope she has learnt from her last two albums that songs from the Goodies record is where she truly lays. I also hope she comes back with her real hardcore dance moves ala the Get Up Video and she stop trying to go the pop route because that helped lose her fanbase. Oh Yh and she needs to not let so much of her damn album leak.

Like a Surgeon would have done great in her R&B universe. She released that Love S** Magic crap for the white audience and it worked…now she need 2 bring it back!

Ummmmm… Fantasy Flop was a terrible album. It was all over the place. Hopefully she does better this time around. Not a big fan of hers but I do like her. Wish her well
This is kinda sudden, as HUGE Ciara fan & one who thought that Fantasy Ride was one of the best albums of 2009, I am VERY excited to see her working on her 4th album… I do however hope that there are more features than just The-Dream. I also hope that all of the album tracks dont leak, but I however hope that “Feeling On My A” gets the mastered treatment & makes the album.

yea I think “Like a Surgeon” is one of her best songs…I know this album will be fire!! It’s good that she didn’t get discouraged from the lack of success the last album had. She will be good!!
Ciara better kick ass with this new one because she’s falling into the “what everybody wants to hear” category.
I mean honestly there are some reasons as to why ‘Fanasty Ride flopped. Majority of the album has already leaked months prior to the albums release. Also she sexed up a image a lil more and that probably pushed some parents/fans away and the the singles she released just wasn’t that great. But I wish CiCi that best and I hope her next album dominates the charts.
MONTHS PRIOR TO THE RELEASE TRY A YEAR AND SHE PUT OUT BAD SINGLES. THE SAD PART IS THIS IS HER BEST ALBUM IT SHOWED SO MUCH GROWTH. HER IMAGE HAS NOT CHANGED FROM EVOLUTION. NOBODY SAID NOTHING WHEN SHE WAS B*** ASS NAKED IN THE VIDEO WITH FIFTY OR KILLING IT WITH CHRIS LAST YEAR. HER NEXT ALBUM WILL DOMINATE. AND I AM GLAD SHE IS POP NOW.
Cici needs a comeback, mariahs last album tanked in 2008, she came back hard in 2009.

I REALLY liked “Tell Me What Your name Is,” such a great catchy melodic song. Different yet still in a Ciara vein…
I hope she gets her act together, because its sad that this CD came out in May 2009, and her next album could technically be released already by September 2009. I feel like Ciara wasn’t promoting the record properly. Jive/Zomba was not stepping up for Ciara, they were just trying to lay low in spite of CB, cause they stopped really promoting Britney Spears as well, after his whole domestic violence stuff. SMH….

Hopefully The Dream can help re-invent her style. Also, while it’s just my personal suggestion, I’d like her to tone down the s** in the music videos. When it’s so much in your face it’s hard to focus on the song because you’re shocked at what she’s doing and if you can’t focus on the song why buy the album cause you can see videos for free.
Ciara makes good music. The problem is she has no real identity that anyone can hang on to. She’s so young, and she keeps changing it. She should join the Pussycat dolls.

um, mrs. jones, the-dream really isnt doing much for mariah. her music hasnt been all that good since the emancipation, many fans & critcis alike have said the same thing. so you mite wanna reacess your opinion about that. mariah should team back up with jd, since that is who she was with when she had a REAL comeback (EMANCIPATION OF MIMI), now she’s just producing crap IMO.
On ciara, hope all goes well & i hope she turns out great music, great videos & all in all i hope 2010 is just a great year for her. I wish her the best of luck & no matter what i will still be buying.
I hope the songs aren’t bland like Mariah’s current record. Another Keep Dancing On Me and Tell Me What Your Name Is would be fantastic. It’d be nice to see her dancing again, instead of the ‘s***’ bending over nonsense female entertainers do nowadays. No pushbacks or leaking the entire album this time around.
If this album tanks as well, her career is on the line. Labels can probably forgive and forget one flop album, especially after the artist shifted millions before, but more than once and it’s over.

It garnered her pop side more and now time for total domination the transition is less of a battle now. Ciara is going to top the charts again!!!! Wait for it, Fantasy Ride gained much success to despites sales and ones disbelief. 🙂
