After months of being in the limelight for every reason other than her music, Rihanna is set to return to the charts with her fourth studio album. For a while now, there has been increased speculation that the Bajan star was eyeing a November release for the as yet untitled LP; today those murmurs were confirmed as true – with the ‘singer’s’ Twitter page cryptically reading:
Am I excited about the prospect of another RiRi LP and the inevitable aggressive ‘be force fed it until you like it’ promo campaign that will accompany it? No. Am I looking forward to hearing her dying alley cat in pain vocals all over the radio? Hell no. I will say, though, that Ms. Fenty – who I legitimately believe is the Best-Worst singer to have graced the charts – definitely has my attention in that I’m interested to see if she can duplicate or even come close to the success she achieved with ‘Good Girl Gone Bad’. With her limited/non-existent talent and her place as more of tabloid fodder rather than a legit artist, Stevie Wonder could see her sell-by date. Then again, this is the music industry…. stranger things have happened (see: Madonna).

I think some people just need to face the fact that some people genuinely love Rihanna as a music artist. The only reason people may not like her is because she doesn’t live up to THEIR standards as to what a GOOD SINGER or GOOD ENTERTAINER is. Any other reason why people don’t like her is just Ridiculous. I wish people would stop comparing RiRi to artist she has no business being compared to. I honestly find it hard to understand your criticism, especially in the light of its inconsistency. You have, in the past, commended Rihanna and somewhere this summer, you began your hate-trip.
Apparently, this has something to do with Rihanna’s numerous appearances across New York City and Los Angeles. It is my firm belief that Rihanna had made such appearances before, but received little tabloid exposure until the Chris Brown-incident surfaced.
What’s more, your criticism (or, should I say, slander) of Rihanna could be easily directed to Ciara, who in your books, is oh so godly. At least Rihanna CAN sell singles and albums. RiRi has quickly dominated the Billboard Hot 100 since stepping on to the scene only five years ago.
Your inconsistency is your ultimate downfall. If you seek to maintain a blog that is fair and justified, do not embark on tireless rants and fail to give credit where it’s due. Do not substitute your personal feelings/vendettas/etc. for what is true. Do not contradict yourself just because the same thing happened to a different person.
This blog has been very successful thus far, but is being damaged by inconsistency and falsehood. Do us all a favor and start giving singers respect where it’s due. Start telling the truth, rather than exaggerate it.

if rihanna had half the talent that her peer, Ciara, does, it wouldn’t be so bad. Ciara has been writing a great chunk of her own music(and for others) since she was 15 years old, i believe and she’s a great performer. Rihanna can’t do half the things Ciara does on stage. Sure Rihanna may have gained a bit more popularity with GGGB than her but ciara’s more RESPECTED; 2008 Woman of the Year winner, 5-time ASCAP award winner and so much more RESPECTABLE awards.

I Like Rhianna; Her Music is pretty catchy. Im interested to see what her Producers cooked up this time around. I cant believe this is her 4th Album, Her last was good as a whole but there were fillers. My Fav Rhi song is Disturbia; She has some other nice ones though(Hating on the club, Umbrella, Bow etc). Her 3rd LP GGGB sold 3.8 Million, (B’day 3.5 million) Beyonces 3rd LP I Am… sold 5 Milion.

I agree with everything Sam said. Other singers, like Celine Dion, have an accent but they still sound amazing. Instead people say Rihanna’s voice is ‘different’ and ‘stand outs’….Just admit that her voice sucks! As long as the music disguises her voice, and the album is as good as GGGB, then I’ll be getting it.

They are hoping beyond relief that her rep for her last CD sells and not her performances of it! I don’t know why you all are mad at Sam for Expressing HIS OPINION. He is not nor has he ever made any personal attacks on Rihanna. He does not insult her family. Music is what speaks to each individual taste buds. All mainstream is not bad, and not all underground/underrated artists are good. Listen to what you like and forget the rest.
