I’m liking it but not loving it just yet. One thing I’m gonna say is that Bee is doing whateva she wants 2 do this era. She’s not trying to get them pop radio friendly HITS that are generic and something that a Katy, Kesha, Britney or Rihanna would do. She’s just doing what SHE wants and whoever wants to come for the rides, joins her I guess. I like her independence this era. I felt that IASF was more to prove herself of a POP diva and she was gunning for POP shine whereas this era reminds me more of B’Day era. B’Day is her most craziest and best album of hers.

Sounds a lot better than the first single. This one can grow on me. And I think I read somewhere that the label wanted her to go with this single first, I can see why. Now I’m somewhat interested. And yes, just like someone said before, compared to her last project, it does seem like she is going back to “black,” which is where she fits best. Unlike Rihanna who has a much thinner voice which is why she soars better in pop than urban, Beyonce has always had most of her success doing urban music, despite being considered a crossover. Now I can’t wait to see the video, and possibly, BET Award performance for this.

Upon first listen I liked it a lot. Was feeling it. But the first verse doesn’t have that fierce force to it. LOVE THE BRIDGE! Can’t wait to hear the untagged and mastered version. Its way more summery and slightly carvinal themed. I loved RTW too though (Probably weak for a Bey song, but I enjoyed it) I guess she’s having a lot more fun this era…I’m confident she’ll deliver with the ballads…Her voice on that bridge was hot!
Sidenote: Why did she dye her eyebrows…She looks weird. I usually don’t like it when girls have different eyebrow colours to the hair on their head but the Black eyebrows and blonde hair worked for Bey. Blonde eyebrows do not work!

Why does this song sound like something Michael Jackson or Janelle Monae would do? Anyway, I’m not feeling it. It’s o.k., but it’s nothing that grabs at you. One thing I notice about some of Beyonce’s songs, is that it can be very repetitive. She repeats herself alot, and I think this is done so that the song can become stuck in the listener’s head. Take “Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It) ” for example. It’s not the best song in the world, yet it’s very easy to remember the lyrics because of the constant repetition. Next thing you know, you find yourself singing a song that you didn’t originally liked in the first place. If you listen to it enough, the same thing is going to happen with, “Who Run The World (Girls)” and now this new song here. Maybe that’s Beyonce’s formula for alot of her recent songs. She knows that if she uses the method of repetition, it will get people hooked on her music. Let’s keep it real, alot of her lyrics are not exactly on the level of Maya Angelou. And, she knows that too.

Some people might think its a mess, but it’s alot syncopated rhythms that are not normally heard in main stream music. I for one like this and I think it will sound really great live!! Someone said it wasn’t radio friendly, I think that is a good thing. It means it stands out from the generic sound. Let’s take it back to the home land!
