The only difference is that Prince, Elton John and Barry Manilow wrote and produced their songs. They didn’t have producers and writers doing their own work. They didn’t spend their whole day on Twitter. They didn’t promote their albums around the world. They didn’t have world tours. They didn’t have shoots for magazines.
It was common to only have one single to promote the album. The eras lasted just for a couple of months. Today, most of albums are milked to death. They last for over 1 year, have re-releases, several singles, etc.
There is just one more thing: they are talented! They could sing and perform.
It does not matter who wrote and produced it’s still
