I don´t know. I watched a documentary about Whitney Houston yesterday (don´t know why, I know) and I still have this bad feeling in my body. The pressure the A megastars suffer (specially in music way more than in cinema) are insane. In the 80´s (not 2012), being black, a woman, a part of the world wanting something from you, the other part wanting a different thing, neither of them being what you really are, being shy and keeping it all to yourself (starting drug abuse little by little to cope) and many many other things through the years
What i want to say it´s I´m still sad about it so all I want from Britney is to retire, to live her life the best she can and the media leaving her alone (it seems they have these last years). Britney´s it´s not the same case as Whitney and Michael (both of them uber talented who probably went too far in searching for excelence and surpass their previous works and LIVE performances) but in a way it is when it comes to that pressure (during the first years of her career I mean, not now obviously)
Only people like Madonna or Mariah Carey and very very few more know what being the absolutely epic megastar in the world “respected” by everybody really means (on a personal level). Well in fact madonna maybe doesn´t know it cos probably she never felt the pressure of having to keep her talent intact no matter what or people would it her alive (since she never was that respected on that front, the talent). Only these people know what the business and the big companies can do to your emotional health in a period when music industry was a massive deal. Nowadays artist can´t know it since nobody sells and I´m sure pressures are not the same
I´m just glad people like Mariah knew how to handle it (and she fought hard to handle it and she struggled, we know for a fact)

There you go once again, Madonna is well respected in the industry, only her detractors call her untalented, i don’t understand how can’t anyone call her untalented when she plays guitar, drums and wrote and co-wrote most of her songs, she is involved in every aspect of her albums, it’s not me saying this things, the producers who work with her say these things, before she was famous she was in the Post-punk bands “The Emmys” and “The Breakfast Club” for those who don’t know that, go to youtube and listen her pre-fame songs with these bands and you will see, she might not have the voice but she has everything to be called talented, of course she feel the pressure to always has to prove that she is till MADONNA, as a fan of her i’m used to it, everybody loves to hate her maybe because of her success that is only comparable to men, i know there are more talented people with better voices but when you look at her discography it would be stupid to rank her lower than any other female singer.
it seems as though if anyone would be driven to heavy drugs it would be christina. it’s hard to see how she manages to keep from drowning herself in drugs to deal with all her hurt and humiliation constantly coming at her from haters.
maybe her crutch is food and alcohol.
before britney’s breakdown her publicity was never as negative as christina’s. she was always loved by the media and they wanted her to be the next madonna. i’m sure everyone remembers how christina was cut from the madonna kiss sequence at the vmas.
since christina has always lived with harassment and rejection from peers and later from the media and britney has not, perhaps it did make christina a true ‘fighter’.

Nobody was expecting from Madonna to do that insane and almost impossible vocal performance once again in her next performance (like they were expecting Whitney, wheter she was sick or not or she was getting older or not that night) or dance in such amazing way again and again (like Michael was expected to do). Mariah is a survivor too. She is clearly not going to go the same road as them at this point. And she had it HARD after 1997. They didn´t stop until she finally broke down a little in 2001 (big company and business man against her, plus the pressure about her voice not being the out of this world wonder it was, etc as if anybody could sustain that for longer than a few years…) . But the b**** is strong and was out of the picture for about only 2 months. Next year she had a new album ready
And we should thanks Madge and Mimi for that, just for been still here, giving us their best even if they are not what they once were, like really i’m very glad that they are still making music, i joke and everything but i really love how they has handle the pressure the way they did, i was really shocking by the death of MJ and then Whitney, i’m still no all good after that, how can you just forget something like that and most because i love them since i was a kid, it just really sad, it makes me angry at the same time.

It is really unfortunate to see someone who is rarely young (30 isn’t that old) without an inspiration in life. She looks like she lost her purpose in life. I wish Britney the best of luck with her music, family, and mental/emotional state.

Maybe she would start her career as a manufactored singer (as most of nowadays pop artist ), but she can make it on her own. Look at Blackout. She was alone as executive producer (she fired his manager those days), she chose the producers and she made the best album of her career. That’s it.

She’s been thru a rollercoaster in the past 5 years and she should disconnect a couple of years. But I feel she’s more confident nowadays. She was like a robot in her Femme Fatale interviews and now i see her more spontaneous in her latest appearances. Not yet 100% Britney, but she’s in a good way.
Though I know she’d wish to be in Lousianna with her kids, eating Taco Bell’s and frappuccinos all day long.

The problem with your statement is that she stopped dancing with any skill in 2004. She was lip synching heavily since 2000. So what exactly is her talent? When people think of Britney Spears they think of lip synching, THAT is her legacy. When people think Mariah Carey they think of sky high vocals across all registers with insane difficulty. The difference between the is bigger than night and day.
Like I said “dance like Britney back in the day.” Also, we know Britney’s not the best singer, we get it and it’s been stated numerous of times. She even admits it, but she DID kill in live performances and I doubt Mariah could even come close to performing the way Britney did in her early career, just like Brit could never come close to singing like Mariah. But besides all that, the point of my statement was no matter WHAT your talent it, whether it be singing, dancing, acting whatever, you’re no better than the person next to you and you’re ATTITUDE is what will steer people away from you as Mariah’s did with me along time ago. Humility and respect will bring you WAAYYY further than just you being able to sing whistle notes.

I don’t support arrogance no matter how great of a singer you are, it’s an ugly quality to have and only blinds people of your talent because all they see is your stank attitude. I think 2012, consumers want to feel a connection with their favorite artists but those who choose to act better than everyone including their fans, well, chart positions and sales says it all. It’s not about your “resume” anymore or where you “think” you are as far as your legacy in this generation, it’s about being relatable, humble and connecting with your audience on a personal level. Cut the bullish*t diva crap out. Britney is just a regular woman and doesn’t feel the need to live her life by putting on a “facade” for people.
