As if the returns of Lady GaGa, Katy Perry and Jill Scott wasn’t enough to satisfy music lovers this year, they’ll be pleased to know that they’re yet to score their full fill of new material.

Over the weekend, Pop contralto Lana Del Rey announced the unveiling of ‘Tropico’…’a mysterious new movie coming to a city near you’.
Enlisting Anthony Mandler to direct the piece, the movie has been described as a tale of redemption and will feature material from her latest release, ‘Paradise’– the EP that preceded her #1 album ‘Born To Die‘.
More specifically, the project will feature the songs ‘Bel Air’, ‘Body Electric‘and ‘Gods and Monsters’ and will see Rey’s sister Chuck Grant provide original photography for the piece.
‘Tropico‘s unveiling is set to come almost two years after the release of Lana’s aforementioned ‘Born’ debut, which has now sold 688,178 since its January 2012 release.
In other sales news, 8,006 units sold in the last week bring Adele‘s ’21‘ to US sales of 10,689,402, while Fantasia‘s ‘Side Effects You’ welcomes total sales of 231,609 since its April 23rd launch.
Elsewhere, Rihanna‘s ‘Unapologetic‘ continues its slow but sure journey to 2 million with 1,063,892 while Jay Z‘s ‘Magna Carta Holy Grail’ moves 190,000 units worldwide in the last week, reaching a global total of 822,000 copies sold.
