Veritably, Beyonce fans rejoiced when news surfaced on Friday that the diva’s self-titled set would return to Billboard 200’s #1 spot after its tenure was interrupted by Disney’s ‘Frozen’ soundtrack.
But, that celebration was short-lived as reports now indicate Friday’s report was based on a miscalculation. Indeed, the forecast came two days too soon and now a revised projection pits the children’s CD back at the top spot.

“Last week, sources pegged “Beyonce” to sell between 85,000 to 90,000 in the week ending Jan. 12, while “Frozen” was heading for 75,000 to 80,000. Over the weekend, “Frozen” overperformed and blew past its projection.
Sources project that “Beyonce” sold around 78,000 to 81,000 for the week ending Jan. 12, while Disney’s “Frozen” maybe sold 83,000 to 86,000.”

Don´t get me started with predictions based on first day sales, or even before the release “industry predictions”. They f****** kill some albums life sometimes. Sadly, a part of the mainstream audience just follow the hype, and if an good album is labeled a flop before ven its release they ruin its journey. On the other hand, an album that yes, it was going to do ok or good, they start “hyping” it based on first day sales and they make it sell way more than deserved.
