Two years after hitting Pop’s scene with the dramatic ‘Born To Die’, Lana Del Rey‘s sound has found a home in the unlikeliest of places this month…British soap opera ‘Eastenders.’
Why the singer now has the show’s audience to thank for a sales rise in the market?
Placed in a commercial promoting the murder of character Lucy Beale, Rey’s ‘Gods and Monsters‘ reached an audience of 6.4 million viewers on Friday evening, forcing the cut into iTunes UK’s Top 100 and selling enough copies in the last two days to reach #74.
Interesting, as this chart position now sees it outperform the singer’s latest single ‘West Coast‘, which now sits outside of the Top 100 in the UK but does sit at #28 on iTunes USA’s singles tally, 15 spots above Beyonce‘s ‘Drunk in Love.’
In other chart news, fans of ‘Fancy’ rapper Iggy Azalea will witness her debut LP ‘The New Classic’ impact iTunes UK’s album chart in an hour’s time, as the project becomes available for release in the country once midnight swings by.
