From the concept of the visual album, to being critically acclaimed. Her album was also far more diverse using elements of Hip Hop, R&B, Disco, Pop etc. That album release shook the industry.

It’s unfortunate that only a few talented artists in today’s music (like Bey, Sam, Sia, Coldplay and John Legend) allow the industry to save face. Few musicians are worthy of awarding Grammys these days. Some people get upset over Bey’s Grammy success, but when you look into the pool of gimmick and struggle artists we have the logic behind these victories becomes clearer with each passing year. It’s a real shame that songs like ‘All About That Base’, ‘Shake It Off’ and ‘Fancy’ could all be potential winners (and I have nothing against Iggy and Taylor). To me a “hit” and something memorable that defines an era are two separate things now.
