Yesterday brought with it the nominations announcement for the 2016 MTV Video Music Awards. And while the likes of Drake and Justin Bieber are likely smiling following their nods, Nick Jonas seems to be taking his lack of acknowledgement personally.

Full story below…

Following the reveal, the 23-year-old took to Twitter to vent his annoyance at the lack of love shown to of his Tove Lo collaboration ‘Close.’

Despite amassing over 100 million VEVO views with the critically praised visual, ‘Close’ was shut out from the entire list.

The ‘Jealous’ belter  isn’t the only artist whose visual contributions went under the radar. Taylor Swift’s ‘Out of The Woods’ also went without VMA recognition, much to the surprise of her supporters.

Leading the way with nominations this year are Beyonce and Adele – who hold 11 and 8 category’s respectively. Kanye West, Drake and Justin Bieber follow close behind with several nods each. Catch the VMA’s when they descend on New York’s Madison Square Garden on August 28th.

Was Nick robbed?

Kiiii!!! He cute but he a flop!
    .
I still can’t get over the “culturally irrelevant” Beyoncé scalping these hoeess. First the Cannes win than BET wins, now VMA nominations. She’ll def be walking away with multiple moonmen! Grammy season needs to hurry up!

Angry at Snub? Maybe you should be angry at being a MALE THOT and making sexual throw-away music. He makes the same song over and over and produces no quality and feeds off his gay fan base.

      Truth

Slot of artists were robbed, but I’m having a hard time believing he was going to win anyway, no shade. To some of these artists it’s not about even winning just being recognized and nominated sends them and their fans over the moon, like with the Grammies…just to be nominated means B**** you made it. But these shows are full of s***, Lemonade, 25, Views From The Six & The Life of Pablo are some of the most lack luster albums this year but are hyped up for name sake. One of the categories for Lemonade is something ppl never even heard of till now and Drake is only being acknowledged for Hotline Being which is not even on the album.

    • Danzou July 27, 2016

But hotline bling is on the album.

      • Tori July 27, 2016

        As a bonus track isn’t?

    • Danny Bey July 27, 2016

Still on the album nonetheless. And what does it matter if it was on the album or not? It was a smash hit.

I’m disappointed that he actually thinks anybody cares about him.

    • Ayyseify July 27, 2016

I bet that’s how Wayne feels after he calls baby asking for a release date

  6. StarXavi July 27, 2016

I think its okay for an artist to be upset that they were not acknowledged, especially if they put a lot of work into their visuals. At least he didn’t go on a tirade about how he “deserved” to be recognized.

  7. Danzou July 27, 2016

I’m so glad. I love when white artists hey snubbed because maybe then they’ll unattended understand how black artists like jazmine sullivan feel EVERY year when they’re ignored. Nick you’re basic. This speaks volumes for itself the fact that he thinks he deserved a nod for a BASIC video that did the least creatively. Beyoncé Rihanna and kanye have been dropping head spinning visuals all year it’s about time white artists that are sub par are treated equally.

    • Luke July 27, 2016

I love how bitter you are. I bet your racial complex and paranoia keeps your so perpetually angry that it causes you enough angst to trigger an ulcer. LOL

      • The True Danzou July 27, 2016

Danzou is just an angry black woman who stans for black artist who bath in bleach… that speaks volumes.

      • The True Danzou July 27, 2016

        Cough cough Nick Manaj

    • kwinzy July 27, 2016

Same could be said for Nicki who’s basic AF. Always gets snubbed for bigger awards like the Grammys. Perhaps she should start making grown folk timeless rap music than pandering to white middle America. I mean, will she ever be taken seriously? Lol

*Sits and waits for Danzou to implode*

This is my problem with this generation of performers! Sore, self entitled, losers! If you don’t get nominated, take it in stride and get over it! If you continue to be a little beotch everytime you don’t get nominated or win an award (looking at you Kanye and Justin B) you will not last in this industry!

  9. The True Danzou July 27, 2016

Maybe he should find a bitter rapper to take the mic of other artist who win and blame it on their mom dying.

  10. Stylequeen July 27, 2016

Get over yourself it’s just the vmas it’s not a serious award show and has not been interesting or relevant in years I’m definitely not watching last year I couldn’t stop cringing and changing the channel Miley Cyrus,Kanye west, nicki minaj

  11. Jamal July 27, 2016

Good Song, Good Video, but the song went nowhere.bir didn’t chart well not was it well received. Doesn’t compare to his other songs so why is he disappointed?

  12. UMo July 27, 2016

I’m not the least bit sympathetic. He’s built a career pandering to nothing but gays and those weird girls who like seeing guys do gay sh!t. His appeal is narrow. He was better off in that corny group with his brothers.

  13. Jason July 27, 2016

That song annoys me, because it could be a great r&b record with great singers, but wouldn’t sell. So no.

  14. The Kpop Guy, Matt~ July 27, 2016

    Joe is where it’s at

  15. MusicLife July 27, 2016

I recently grew to appreciate “close,” as a song. But I think that it should have featured Miley Cyrus instead of Tove Lo and the video kept giving me recent Sia video vibes, should have been least in a different setting.

  16. ow Reddish tran ivy blokz Need UK timely Ukuyikiji July 28, 2016

Maybe he will win next time
