Jessie J‘s ‘R.O.S.E’ continues to blossom.
The singer has shared another petal from the hotly anticipated album in the form of new song ‘Not My Ex.’
Along with previously released cuts ‘Real Deal’ and ‘Think About That,’ the cut serves as a preview of the much more personal approach the star is taking with her fourth studio outing (due early 2018).
Take a listen after the jump…
Easily the best we’ve heard from ‘R.O.S.E’ yet!
In being understated from a vocal and production standpoint, the song’s lyrics take centre-stage and are arresting.
Sonically, ‘Ex’ is the most radio ready of her offerings this era, but also still advances her sound and message.
We’d love to see this given a definitive push.
LOVE this new song and the R&B sound she’s blending in with.
I met her personal photographer in an Uber on Monday in LA, and supposedly the full record will be drifting more into R&B (which the label apparently wasn’t too happy with).
I love the direction she’s going in with this album, it’s very similar to the lane Demi is doing with TMYLM. I would love a nice video for this song and I’m hoping that she can really pop in the US.
The song goes nowhere and she stays doing too much vocally on records.
The beat was too tricky for no reason. I was lost with the rhythm
The Girl can sing. But its something about her that’s annoying…..Like Joss Stone
She needs Nicki Minaj to sell.
