Ariana Grande Reveals Promoting Her Music Impacted Her Mental Health

Published: Tuesday 24th Jul 2018 by David

Ariana Grande is pulling the plug on intense promotion as doing so impacted her health negatively.

Her stunning admission below…

The star’s fans feel that she isn’t doing enough to promote her new single ‘No Tears Left to Cry’ and took to Twitter to urge her to step her promo game up.

How she responded?

It destroyed my mental health and was horrible for me. i don’t remember anything ab those years of my life and am doing so much better now. career wise and health wise. stop coming for me and my team when i’ve never been better literally in any department. LITERALLY.

‘Tears’ appears on her new album ‘Sweetener‘ which drops August 17th and features beats built by Pharrell Williams, Ilya and Max Martin.

What are your thoughts on traditional promotional methods?

Are they too taxing?

We got kids starving in Africa and here she is whingeing about promotion. Jesus Christ

This! And this is coming from the self proclaimed hardest working 23 years old woman lol. Her mental health has never been solid in the first place if you ask me.

Isn’t that excuse always used when your music isn’t picked up?!!

  4. Jeans July 24, 2018

She and Zayn aren’t really built for this industry

If you look at old Beyonce interviews she says this did this to her too. She said she wouldn’t remember doing some things or going to award shows. It was always on to the next thing on to the next. I think ariana is doing pretty good. The songs are charting the videos are great and high budget

The song is a worldwide hit, what the hell are they complaining about? This is exactly why these modern day stans need to STFU and keep their dumb “advice” on how these entertainers are running their careers.

Her fans are probably expecting more from her because Ariana’s team said they were looking for her to have a Rolling in the deep/I will always love you/Hero moment but they obviously didn’t get it. And her fans stopped being delusional long enough to notice. The song may have done well but it’s trash and no one is ever going to remember it. The light is coming song and the other one with Nicki, Bed and even the Troye song basically flopped. God is a woman is already discounted at 0.69 and Couldn’t hit number 1 on iTunes.

That’s what her fans don’t understand. The reason they’re left feeling empty after a while is because the music doesn’t have a lasting memorable quality. They want to see a bigger impact with each single, but promotion can only do so much for a song that has a short life span.

That’s exactly what it is. No matter how well her songs have done, none of them even comes close to being memorable or iconic. Nearly every other singer has at least one. And they achieved it way before their fourth albums. If her fans are complaining about how well she’s doing (or not doing), then they must know they’re underwhelmed and lowkey disappointed. The problem, like you said, is that they’ve convinced themselves that it’s because she isn’t promoting enough and not because the music isn’t up to par. The music quality is just not there. And her fans are a part of the reason why she hasn’t grown much, artistically. They’ll accept the same kiddy bop stuff from her and wonder why the rest of the world isn’t as excited about it. To put it plainly, I think Ariana needs to sophisticate herself. That includes enunciating her words like a big girl, retiring her tired ponytail, and singing about real things. If not, she’ll never be taken seriously as an artist.

I think this promotion thing is interesting. Personally, I want my stars to have some mystery (other than calculated secret releases. etc). I remember when Janet fans were having the same conversation during her “Unbreakable” era. So many wanted her to “step up” her promotion game and I argued that given WHAT SHE HAS SEEN IN THE MUSIC INDUSTRY that maybe she decided that she would be a better person without it. Been there, done that. All they could see is that “with proper promo (meaning BE EVERYWHERE ALL THE TIME), the album would have sold more”.

If Ariana wants to let the music itself do some of the “talking”, I’m all for it – the MUSIC should be the primary. The music this time around, though, leaves a lot to be desired.

No Hits Left It’s Dry lol ?

I dont get it. Her first single is still a major top 10 hit around the world, and God is a woman has already hit the top 10 in several countries, so i dont see what they’re complaining about.

Ari fans need to face the music….her songs sound like B Sides lol ? I tried to like them but I just can’t take it no mo! Max Martin gave Britney A Sides and Ariana B Sides lol…FACTS…but she’s doing ok with her B Sides I guess ??

Who still promotes in 2018? You post the cover on IG, drop the album and BAM! That’s all the promo you need.

“Promoting Her Music Impacted Her Mental Health” Imagine how working 40+ hours a week and still being broke affects the Mental Health of MILLIONS of Americans. This was laughable to say the least.
