The Predictions Are In: Solange’s ‘When I Get Home’ Album Set To Sell…

Published: Tuesday 5th Mar 2019 by Rashad

Nearly three years after taking a seat atop album charts with her breakthrough opus, ‘Seat at the Table,’ singer/songwriter Solange introduced fans to its highly anticipated follow-up, ‘When I Get Home.’

Released with little warning on March 1 (click here to read more), the 19-track set – which features Playboi Carti, Tyler the Creator, Gucci Mane, and more – may have been billed a critical polarizer among fans but that didn’t stop them from rushing in droves to stream and purchase it.  Just a day after its debut the LP soared to the top of iTunes’ sales tally (as we reported here).

Now, industry analysts have lifted their first official prediction for how the album will fare over the course of its entire inaugural sales week.  Curious to see how ‘Home’ is expected to stack up against ‘Table’s first week sales of 72,000?  Find out inside:

‘When I Get Home’

Predicted First Week Sales (SPS):  40-45k

Predicted First Week Sales (Pure):  10-12k

If the figures above ring true they will lead Solo to her third consecutive top 10 debut on the Billboard 200.

I actually like that she’s not singing like her sister it’s a BOP for me!!???

      • thanosoftitan March 5, 2019

No offense, but there are lots of R&B singers who do not sing like Beyonce…and they have released albums far superior to Solange’s latest studio effort.

Different doesn’t necessarily translate to quality. This is not a slight towards you, but rather towards Solange and her underwhelming album.

      • ayyye March 5, 2019

her sister stopped singing a long time ago tho

      • ??? March 5, 2019

      • SuxMyCockiness ? March 6, 2019

I agree usually, her other albums are ? but this one is just a snooze fest. ?

It’s a horrible forgettable piece of junk. The only reason this garbage is getting any hype is because of bandwagon creatives who think everything is “artsy”. I love Solange but she missed the mark with this one.

Dawns, New Breed fill the void I needed and expected from Solange.

    • Lmfao_Hoe March 5, 2019

I agree the album seemed like a fast way of coming off artsy as you said where’s A Seat at the Table was amazing done and authentic.

      • Meme March 5, 2019

Couldn’t agree more. I know every single lyric including the skits on A seat at the table. This new able unfortunately I will never listen to again, I actually deleted it from my iTunes already.

    • SMH March 5, 2019

Totally agree. Give me Dawn’s “New Breed” over this pretentious fluff ANY day.

Damn she pulled keyshia Cole kind of numbers. Idk if that’s good (no one buys her music) bad (no one buys her music)

    • Meme March 5, 2019

      Lolol

  4. Sweetnothings78 March 5, 2019

Boring a*** album again by miss boring.

  5. Haterz Gon‘ Hate March 5, 2019

She had a formula with A Seat At The Table – why didn’t she enlist Raphael Sadique again! Let this be a lesson to her not to be so self indulgent and to work with others who’s pen and production game is much more experienced in the game than you. Not saying you can’t contribute – but it seems Solo thought she was more skilled at creating than the reality – if love left field music but this is truly awful and has no replay value.

And HOW she gonna tour these tracks???! festival Crowds be strait laying down sleeping ? SMH.

    • Meme March 5, 2019

Screaming lololol. I didn’t even think about the tour part. You can imagine her performing there lyrics over and over

      • Haterz Gon‘ Hate March 5, 2019

        ????????

      • Jasmine1999 March 6, 2019

    • Dreams March 5, 2019

She actually did enlist Raphael …

  6. Beam Me Up Scotty March 5, 2019

Did better than it should have. Album is a mess.

  7. ayyye March 5, 2019

should’ve called Tweet for some more bgvs. she’d finally established a sound….trying to be over artsy stalled this album

    • ayyye March 5, 2019

      *stifled

  8. Lol March 5, 2019

The fact that no one likes it and surprise drops are corny is why it’s not selling. The only reason why it hit number 1 on iTunes is because of who she is.

    • Karter March 5, 2019

@ms marie laveau is that you in the YouTube link? I love it! The production, the lyrics, the soft tones, everything! #issavibe

  9. 2bad2bme March 5, 2019

The only good song on it is “Stay Flo” The rest is terrible.

  10. Karter March 5, 2019

I’ve been rocking with Solange since I heard her singing on the Cadillac Records soundtrack (not one of these bandwagon fans who only use her name to be the “Anti-Beyoncé” or fans who only love her because she’s Beyoncé’s sister) but I must say, this album just wasn’t… it. Maybe if the songs were rearranged in a different order, it could’ve been better. I’ve listened to the album a few times and I’m really not feeling it. ASATT is a hard album to follow tho so I’ll give her a pass lol.

  11. WHERE IS SHE March 5, 2019

    FLOP OF THE YEAR!

  12. Jerusalem March 8, 2019

At first I was like what is this too cool
For school album. But then after a bottle of wine I was dropping it low and spreading them wide to these rare grooves. I’ve been in love with it since.

It’s wonderful that you are getting ideas from this paragraph as well as
from our argument made at this time.
