Summer Walker is attempting to move past the drama that has been her live shows of late.
So what better way to justify her buzz than to perform on ‘The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.’
Backed by a full band, the 23-year-old offered up an “interesting” rendition of ‘Playing Games.’

In today’s climate, it’s imperative to maintain a degree of sensitivity when it comes to the social anxiety she says she suffers from.
That said, there has to be a value pay-off for fans’ support – and showings like this just won’t cut it.
This is the music industry and folk do not get three gold stars for “taking part.” Major televised platforms like this are designed for acts to show up, show out, and acquire a bigger audience. This, though, sent them to bed early.
At this juncture, she and her team ought to work her issues out behind the scenes or risk halting her ascend. Because, at this point her album title is becoming more apt by the day. ‘Over It’ indeed.

no hype, no free promo and shout outs from every celebrity in the industry, and her career still took off.
Everybody is promoting their craft, releasing new music, new videos, new teasers etc while a particular beyonce impersonator is posing for pictures on magazines. Smh

Leaks didn’t hurt artists when pure sales were the thing, now that streaming dominates, it’s an even sadder excuse. Crowmilla should’ve at least doubled her 50k with streaming.
LMAOOOOOOOOOO the shade!! but in reality what you’re saying is true. her music speaks for herself. I’m not a fan of her live performances but the album did THAT. She ain’t here covering a million magazines trying to get validation. Summer has been a little problematic lately and lackluster and she would’ve been cancelled had her music not been this good. I said it once and I will say it again Normani doesn’t have IT. She’s another Tinashe but at least Tinashe is trying and wants to be artistic. I give a lot of props to Tinashe for fighting so hard to have a career even tho she keeps flopping.
i wouldn’t judge Normani that harshly she has had a breakout year. She’s collaborated with artists like Sam Smith, Khalid, Ariana Grande, and Nicki Minaj. She’s even been referred to as the next Beyoncé and her singles are amazing. Normani has showcased herself in the best way as a newcomer and her choreography is beautiful. To me it’s all about longevity and whether or not she can keep it up. If she is smart about how she wants her career to play out than it is possible.

Performance was terrible! The band was louder than her, background singers loud, and summer’s vocals were just plain lazy and off. Glad I missed it!!!
Mental illness is serious, and just because people are rich and famous doesn’t mean that they are immune. Looking at Summer Walker, I think it was negligent on the part of her team and her label to push her into the limelight. They knew she was struggling before they released this album, but they pushed her to do promo and a tour. This is a sad situation. Let this girl record music and release it, without promotion. Or let her just write for other artists.

She needs to work on her stage presence. Her lower body did not move during the entire performance out of nervousness I presume. Poor girl! She stood in one pose for 4 minutes. I like the song though.
Her songs are great but her performances are lackluster. She shows literally any enthusiasm whatsoever. I understand that she has a serious case of social anxiety but people go to concerts not just for good music but for good entertainment. If I was her I would find a way to work through the anxiety. There has to techniques that helps with this.
She’s gorgeous and extremely talented. Can’t wait to see her and H.E.R. collab one day, if even.
