It was a year of Hip-Hop greats at the Super Bowl this year. Eminem, 50 Cent, Kendrick Lamar, Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, and Mary J. Blige all joined forces for one of the most historic Super Bowls in recent memory.

The performance garnered praise from various other celebrities and broke viewership records, drawing in an audience of 112 million people.

However, the show was not without controversy, as some labeled it "vulgar" and former New York mayor Rudy Giuliani slamming the show for saying it "encouraged cop killing."

Despite the controversy, the show wielded great results on the charts for all of the performers. Snoop Dogg's cookbook soared into the top 10 best sellers list, while albums from Eminem and Dr. Dre returned to the top 10 of the Billboard 200 chart.

At the end of the day, the show won and Emmy for Outstanding Variety Special (Live) – marking a historic first win for the Halftime Show in the category. As a result, it puts Eminem one award short of EGOT status.
