Jennifer Hudson may still be raking in praise for her stellar Whitney Houston tribute from Sunday’s American Music Awards 50th anniversary special, but now the EMMY, GRAMMY, OSCAR, and TONY Award-winning diva is gearing up to win even more acclaim for the same as she’s signed on to tribute a member of this year’s Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction class.
And, she’s bringing another award-winning, ‘American Idol’ alum-turned-talk show host with her.
Even more superstars have signed on to salute the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame’s 2024 class – an illustrious list of legends that includes Kool & the Gang, “Big Mama” Thornton, Mary J. Blige, Cher, Dave Matthews Band, Dionne Warwick, Ozzy Osbourne, and A Tribe Called Quest.
Jack Black, Jennifer Hudson, Kelly Clarkson, Andrew Watt, Billy Idol, Tom Morello, Wolfgang Van Halen, Chad Smith, Maynard James Keenan, Robert Trujillo, Steve Stevens, and Zakk Wylde are the newest names added to the roster of acts set to perform or present at the coveted event.
The aforementioned join the first school of names announced like Busta Rhymes, Dr. Dre, Demi Lovato, Dua Lipa, Ella Mai, James Taylor, Jelly Roll, Julia Roberts, Keith Urban, Kenny Chesney, Lucky Daye, Method Man, Sammy Hagar, Slash, and The Roots.
Less than two weeks away, this year’s ceremony will livestream on Disney+ on October 19 ahead of a primetime special featuring the evening’s biggest moments that will air on ABC on January 1, 2025.
At the time of this report it’s not been clarified which performers will be saluting which inductees.
