After delivering two decades worth of top TV ratings, unforgettable stage performances, and a brigade of blockbuster hits, ‘Flowers‘ hitmaker Miley Cyrus is finally getting just that.
The singer-actress was surrounded by friends, family, fans, and professional peers as she was honored with a Hollywood Walk of Fame star on Friday (May 22).
“Today is something that I’ll never forget and I’m always going to cherish. I love you all so much, thank you,” she shared during her emotional acceptance speech.
Although her Country superstar dad Billy Ray Cyrus and legendary Godmother Dolly Parton were noticeably absent, Miley was joined by Tish Cyrus, sister Brandi Cyrus, and fiancé Maxx Morando.
Other notable attendees of the Pop diva’s big day included Donatella Versace and Anya Taylor-Joy.
“To my family, my future family, parents, my mom, my siblings, my friends, my collaborators, thank you for loving and supporting not only the choices that I make, but my fears, and then facing them with me,” Miley relayed while fighting tears.
More than worthy of the prestigious honor, the 33-year-old already owns a two-decade career that boasts multiple #1 hits on the Hot 100 and Billboard 200, top-grossing concert tours, and over 83 million records sold in the U.S. alone including ‘Party in the USA‘ – the highest-certified non-holiday song by a woman in the 73-year history of the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).
Yet, with all her accomplishments, Miley suggested that pales in comparison to the Walk of Fame star.
“What feels so special to me about this star is that it’s an accumulation of devotion. A star isn’t something that you win like a seasonal game. It’s not something that you can chase or collect. It’s not something you make the next record for,” she continued, later sharing its “fierce and fun and fabulous.”
