Being a branch on a musical family tree like that of the famed gospel family The Clarks has lent multi-talented singer/songwriter/rapper/producer J. Drew the tools he would need to make his own mark on music.
A mark he undoubtedly intends on carving via 'Never Coming Back', his latest EP through Detroit-born label LiveTMG. Led by the soaring first single 'Flight', J invites listeners on a musical journey through elaborately layered production decorated with hard-hitting drums, noteworthy vocal displays, and an emotional rap/sung combo reminiscent of Drake, The Weeknd, Frank Ocean, and co.
Already winning fans left and right aboard his BET reality show 'The Sheards', the preacher's son deliver his best musical testimony yet with 'Back'. Don't believe us? Be the judge yourself as the PLAY button awaits below:

I like it! Got it when it came out. It does at times seem like he tried really hard to be “secular” though..
Great production. His melodic ear is serious. Only makes sense because of his fam. Not bad at all.
