Now, as its original version continues to attract rave reviews and reignite interest in its supporting album, Carey goes the extra mile by sending its remix to the world minutes later.
This reworked version, featuring R&B chart regular Trey Songz (who does away with the Hip Hop cliches that threaten to cheapen his sound), joina Mariah on a romantic- and hopefully chart-dominating- journey.

Loved verses and bridge sections but I’m not the biggest fan of how the hook is. Lyrics are fine but just not grabbing me the way it is on there.
Still going to download this as I know the hook presentation will grow on me.
The Remix, adds more excitement to the sorta already boring song, but I mean I see potential for it to be an R&B hit, but not a Hot 100 hit without mad payola! Just OK. Could do without. Both versions come off more like a gift to fans type song rather than a single I would choose to release IMO.
Slightly better than the original, but I still prefer #Beautiful over both.

I like it! Can´t say much more right now. Obviously she´s not thinking about topping the hot100 with this one, only pop songs top it. The album will be great though, a lot of variety is what I´m predicting.
I don’t understand where the hate comes from. This is her best ballad in years (besides Angels Cry) & her best song (besides #Beautiful & The Impossible [MOAIA]) IMO. It’s like a sped up H.A.T.E.U. And her voice sounds healthier than the MOAIA era. I’m giving her credit because it is due. Trey did his thing, and the remix is good. I prefer the solo edition though.

The Art of Letting Go wasn’t even a single. It wasn’t released to radio, no video was shot, and Mariah certainly didn’t promote it. She just wanted it out there.
