Although it wasn’t a global hit like some of its successors, it still managed to peak at #11 on the Billboard Hot 100.
Helmed by Bucky Chrome, the music video for the song showcased Justin engaging in intricate choreography – courtesy of the great Marty Kudelka – and serenading his love interest dance moves on the street in a similar fashion toMichael Jackson in the video for ‘The Way You Make Me Feel.’
Freshly out of his bubble gum pop band as well as his relationship with a then wholesome Britney Spears, JT needed an image makeover, which probably explains the steamier scenes between him and the model of choice that can be found in the visual.

Love this song!!! Sure it wasn’t a smash but it brings back so many good memories. Especially noting that it was the track that he performed for the first time as a solo act outside NSYNC. Fun fact; the gorgeous leading lady was the first girl you see in Usher’s U Remind Me music video.
I remember JT digging in Usher’s closet. But I didn’t like this song, for some reason Phafrell couldn’t capture the sound for JT the way Timberland could.

The crazy thing is that JC was more of the lead singer that would take the tip on every songs (minus the songs JT would sing solo). So the group was always looked at as the 2 leads, something Chris would be 2nd lead once in a blue moon and the last two were just dancers. But when this dropped, I recall people wanting to hear JC solo would sound like and the next year (or was it the same year?) He would drop an album and it flopped. Anyone remember Nick Carter going solo with a pop rock song? Btw I never liked any of them, I had sisters so this and the rest of them were always played in the house. Lol But out of all of them, JT took the most risk (even if the tracks were all MJ rejects. No they really were, no joke.)
JT’s solo career really is just a watered down MJ with an Usher aftertaste…and a faint Prince smell…lol…I liked him better singing beside JC Chasez …NSYNC really had something special…he ain’t that cute either lol…but he does make serviceable bops from time to time, like this one…he does try hard tho…Janet should have never…she should have just performed with the greater, and let the lessor just dream about it chile…not to mention Like I Love You was originally written for the greater anyway…

I waz not 2 happy w/ JT leaving the group @ 1st, bc I never found him 2 b the Sisqó (remember him?) of the group, however, he really proved muah wrong. His music solo iz way better. I love Justified bc of the heavily inspired MJ sound. I love FutureSex bc it’s perfection. I love 20/20 bc it is a smooth listener and a great piece of work. All n all, JT iz ay O.K. w/ muah. I just hope he continues to stay on the rite path taking the proper breaks and etc.

Lol itunes doesn’t account for all of albums sales. You people forget that physical albums play a huge part of albums sales as a whole. What does Janet have to do with this? JT is very talented. While he is inspired by MJ, he isn’t a copycat. He makes great music.

Justin gives a little MJ, a Little Prince and a LOT OF USHER. But he won’t go down in history as one of the greatest artist alive, because he is not original. He’s a copy.
His magic is his spirit, he’s not the best singer, he does have a decent range and nice tone, but his voice would not bring you to tears kind of magic.
He’s not the best dancer, but his little wigger movements are alluring even though he barely dances now, because he’s lazy.
Janet, Janet, Janet – What he did leaving Janet to die in the desert alone is a punk move. Pure Punk move. But in the end JANET not Justin will go down in history as an ICON.
Funny, most of what you said downplaying Justin’s style and talent could be applied to Janet as well. Ultimately Janet’s new album won’t even do a quarter of what his last album did sales-wise. He didn’t “leave her in the desert.” He walked his way out…while she, through her own incompetence, didn’t. Wasn’t his responsibility to save her, and her faltering career isn’t his problem. In the end, all Janet is is Michael’s sister. I won’t be surprised if Justin made it into the RRHOF before she does.
The hate for this guy makes no sense to me, he’s so talented but he commit two mistakes, being born white and make “black music” as if music has colors, and then there’s the publicity stunt of Team Janet that didn’t end as they thought it will be, he’s the devil.
