Just like the misreported prediction surrounding its lead single ‘High by the Beach,’ Lana Del Rey‘s ‘Honeymoon’ has suffered a similar fate as its first week’s forecast has been recalculated.
While not as drastic as that of ‘Beach,’ which saw over a 70% drop after new reports surfaced, it’s certainly enough to stir up a frenzy among the diva’s devoted fans. Indeed, once considered the frontrunner for the top spot on next week’s Billboard 200, the trap pop queen has been dethroned by Drake and Future‘s hotly selling mixtape ‘What A Time To Be Alive.’

With the new numbers Del Rey is likely to land at #2 on next week’s Billboard 200.
The reports certainly come as a blow to the singer’s track record which, as of 2014’s ‘Ultraviolence,’ was on the up-and-up. While 2012’s ‘Born To Die’ premiered at the #2 spot on the Billboard 200 with 77,000 sold its first week, ‘Ultraviolence’ crashed at the #1 spot with over 2x’s its sales (182,000 sold).

Literally everyone goes #1 on iTunes. Vine “stars” do it everytime they attempt a music career.
All this time you same twinks have been claiming that Lana was “irrelevant” and would do 50K first week (yes, some Gravatar-less troll actually said that), UV ended her, etc. and she’s still doing over 100K first week with NO hit and with maybe two uptempo songs on the album. This is on par with most other artists in the “alternative” spectrum. Vampire Weekend/Arcade Fire’s next albums will probably do these same #s next year if they release. And of course Onika should be doing over 110K while performing at literally every awards show and promo spot possible.
Well you have to give Tinashe time she’s still young and it takes time to build yourself up but so far she’s Doing a great job with her music and performances and keeping her name out there!

That’s actually not bad at all considering her only promo was a B** Live Lounge and a few store signings (London and an Urban Outfitters in NYC). Her entire fanbase was predicting below 95K.
