This was an obvious set up as TGJ and I know that Jazmine Sullivan makes virtually the same music as Adele but isn’t getting the love these days due to her skin color. That’s how I feel. Her last album deserves “Album of the Year” at the Grammys.

I pretty much just read an update of her sales from probably over a 6 month+ period. So those stats will happen anyways. I thought he was about to say after all the rants, people are finally checking out her music. And maybe her current music was soaring.
Smh Jaszmine is so underrated the s*** not even funny. She should be where Adele is as Mariah was to Whitney and the list goes on with like MJ & Prince, Janet & Madonna, and Lil Kim n Foxy Brown. Jazz deserves so much success, her singles Mascara and Mona Lisa are masterpieces.
Just because they both have some soul, doesn’t mean that they make similar music. Their music is different. It isn’t exactly the same. There may be some similarities. But that’s it. Also, your label has to push you as an artist.

jazmine sullivan will run circles around adele vocally, but I like adele too. Just keeping it real. adele album sold off the charts because her label pushed her but jazzy voice and the way she utilizes it is more versatile.
A label has nothing to do with difference of success with these ladies. Jazmine does NOT have the same platforms to even perform her material, she largely depends on internet videos to promote her music because major platforms do not promote black soul music, they support white soul music. You won’t see Jazmine on Today show, or Kimmel, or snl. She has to get more creative, but her techniques as a vocal beast speaks for itself.
