The diva supreme, 51, is currently thrilling audiences in the US with her blockbuster ‘State Of The World Tour.’
This week the trek pulled in to the state of Texas and Ms. Jackson and her J-Tribe showed up and showed out.

Part of me wants to except that she Lip sings parts & she’s not a whispering vocalist…
She is not lip singing though! She is singing live over playback vocals like she has always done.
Lip syncing* or not the show is amazing!! Who cares if she was really singing our not. Janet has nothing to prove. I got a chance to see the show and it’s amazing!!
Janet is slaying the stage and is a better entertainer than all these new acts. I don’t want to compare her to Beyonce because Beyonce is also a seasoned performer. However, I would have to say that Beyonce could learn a few things from Janet but there is nothing Beyonce could teach Janet. Thus, Janet is the better performer.
She could teach Janet how to sing,enunciate and hold healthy full notes while dancing at the same time
LMAO at Beyonce teaching anyone how to enunciate. I can barely understand what Beyonce is saying when she speaks because of her thick country accent and lack of articulation. I like Beyonce, but let’s be honest here. Vocally, Beyonce is no better than Janet and there is nothing special about Beyonce’s voice (Bey is no Whitney or Mariah). Janet holds “healthy full notes” while dancing 10x better Beyonce and I say this as a Beyonce fan. Thus, Beyonce has nothing she could teach Janet and Janet is the overall better performer.
Great energy and comeback but I think it’s amazing how we give Janet so much praise and passes for her lack of vocal ability but turn around harshly criticized others who sings 100x better. Honestly Janet is on the same level as Britney Spears when it comes to singing. She lip sings 70% of the time and talk and whispers the other 30% of the time. Great dancer Tho.
Meme all of your comments are usually 100% on point but I’m sorry I have to disagree here. Janet’s vocal ability has far been proven since 1982. Janet fans do not “harshly criticize” artists with great voices (Whitney, Mariah, etc) so why don’t you attack the actual people that are “harshly criticizing” your favs.
Janet is far better than Britney. Look at it this way…Janet could easily do all of Britney’s little dance moves but Britney could never do Janet’s choreography. Janet does not lip-synch like Britney does and it is very obvious that Janet is singing live 70% of her show (the receipts are the numerous concert videos on youtube). The talk / whispering thing Janet does is more on the studio versions of certain songs when she has to sing over a hip-hop beat. She does not whisper on any of her pop / r&b songs. For example, So Excited, involves her “whispering” but the song works.
Chile please. Janet sings circles around Britney and they are not on the same level. Take a seat.

Jasmine I agree with you I LOVE Janet, going to see her in November. I was responding to “MEME” not all legends are vocalists and vice versa. It’s only been recent where people are concerned about artists “lip syncing.” At the end of the day she is a legend who has so much more to give.

It’s so funny that people talk s*** about Janet’s vocal ability when MANY well known vocalists consider her an inspiration. She layers her songs immaculately. Her harmonies are always deep and beautiful. She’s proven time and time again that she can sing, that’s just not her style of music. Much like her brother went from vocal acrobatics to a rougher and grittier roar that set him apart. It’s called ARTISTRY you do what you love and don’t care what anyone else has to say.. And that’s why she’s is superior and the true ?. She’s the BLUEPRINT and that’s not even up for debate.
What Beyonce can teach Janet is how to slay in heels like a real girl. Janet could never dance or slay a 2 hour show in heels which is why she has never done and sticks to her lesbian combat boots. Beyonce will always have that on her….and that’s a fact.
I love Bey too but common, Bey doesn’t have Janet’s kind of choreography. Bey would do two hours in heels with that level of choreography. For a performance or a music video but not a concert. It’s not smart
That is not a “fact”. That is just your opinion. The fact is that Beyonce has never performed for “2 hour” show! Beyonce’s actual stage time is about 60 minutes max when you take out the extremely long breaks and costume changes!. Period. Janet performed in heels in her 20s and 30s and still does. Let’s see if Beyonce will be dancing in heels when she is 51. Janet’s choreography is somewhat masculine despite her feminine presence which means she dances like a man. Thus, Janet can easily do Beyonce’s choreography but Beyonce would never be able to do Janet’s choreography. Thus, Janet is the better performer like I said before.
To add on Janet has done NUMEROUS performances in Heels… and as said before by Alex, it wouldn’t be smart to do Janet’s type of Choreography at 50+ in heels for 2 Hours, also she wears heels later on in the show for the ending segment.
I saw Beyonces Formation Tour and the heels aren’t THAT high, nor are they Stiletto either…, I used to call Beyonce’s style of shoes “Grandma heels” but she stepped it up a bit since OTR Tour.
The only acts i’ve seen really dance in High Heels were the Pussycat Dolls… and that was for Performances once again, not a full on two hour show..

The choreography and dancers appear to be a huge improvement over the Number Ones tour. I still wish Janet would bring large set pieces back into her shows. Even an LED floor like Chris Brown had on the Party Tour would’ve been a nice touch. To have nothing but a video board and two costume changes feels kind of cheap for someone of Janet’s caliber. I paid less for a ticket to Pink’s last tour and her show gave a whole lot more and was on level with the “All for You” tour. Heck, even Paula Abdul did more with the stage in her half-hour set last summer with NKOTB.
I have not seen the new tour yet but from what I have seen online so far there are at least 5 costume changes. When I spend money to see concerts I would rather see the artist perform more on stage rather than wasting lots of times on breaks and costume changes.
