Azealia Banks Celebrates Victory In RuPaul Plagiarism Case

Published: Tuesday 5th Jun 2018 by David

Efforts made by RuPaul loyalists to sabotage Azealia Banks‘ quest for justice have come to no avail today as legal experts continue to side with her in the feud Ru started when he allegedly stole her music to make his own.

Brilliant news for the ‘Fantasea’-weaving wonder below!

Azealia:

Guess who up in this bitch?
Catch you duckin’ this clip
Dick, who want it? My nigga it’s nothin’
Them boys young drummers, y’all niggas keep gunnin’

RuPaul:

Guess who’s back in the house
Heels click-clackin’ about
Fine, fresh, feminine, style to eleven
I’m divine, so heavenly
Gentlemen sweatin’
It’s dimes across the board with no doubt

The unavoidable similarities shared between Bank’s track ‘The Big Big Beat’ and Paul’s ‘Call Me Mother’ saw the latter blasted by music lovers who criticised him for jacking her lyrics, flow and delivery.

Today, in a tweet she deleted shortly after publishing it, Bank revealed that several streaming platforms had taken her side (thanks to her lawyers) and were to pull ‘Mother’ down…preventing Ru from earning money from it until she is credited for her contribution to it.

She issued this warning to his fans….

Social media had this to say…

lmaooo and nobody STILL knows who she is and her career is STILL never gonna pop off, so what exactly did she win here? LMFAOOOOOO

    • Jasmine (The Real Jasmine) June 5, 2018

I agree I don’t know her but if her song was stolen she should get money and credit. Rupaul is rich. He can pay her.

      • Dora The Explorer! June 5, 2018

That’s right! But if you still remember she made an unauthorized remix of Bauer’s ”Harlem Shake” without crediting no one and when she’s was asked to remove it she accused Bauer and Diplo (who produced it) of cockblocking her and other “educated “ tweets from the “educated” MISS BANKS.
        She’s an hypocrite!

      • Jasmine (The Real Jasmine) June 5, 2018

Fora I do not know anything about her but I agree she must practice what she preaches. If she made any money off that remix or cover then she owes them a cut and proper credits.

      • CAMITYRE June 7, 2018

Dora The Explorer! That was a soundcloud remix – she didn’t put in streaming services / on media platforms that would have made her money. Artists release unauthorised remixes all the time for free because legally it doesn’t have to be authorised.

The song is still on tidal and iTunes….. what kind of victory is that. Did Rupaul steal the song yes! but don’t make it seems like you took it off everywhere.

    • BARB / JLOVER June 5, 2018

One thing I will say is, artists been known to steal Azealea Banks sh*t (Gaga, RiRi, Iggy, etc).

      • Meme June 5, 2018

Please show me the car fax. What did Rihanna steal from AB? I’ll wait forever for this answer. Their music isn’t even remotely close. Nor does Gaga music.

  3. Jasmine (The Real Jasmine) June 5, 2018

Good for her whoever she is. Rupaul needs to pay up. Plagiarism is unacceptable!

    • Naughty One June 5, 2018

      • Jasmine (The Real Jasmine) June 5, 2018

  4. Sweetnothings78 June 5, 2018

    Glad she’s ‘won’!
Every drag queen I’ve ever met has been viscous nasty and down right rude!
Wished someone would cancel drag race!!!

    • lmao June 5, 2018

lmao spotify was the only ones who pulled it, now its back up. this clown didnt win anything but another ticket back to irrelevancy lmfaooooo

    • lmao June 5, 2018

lmao and hetero women are more vicious nasty & rude than ANY drag queenc ould EVER be. just check out those class acts on the real housewives shows lmfaooooo

    • Jasmine (The Real Jasmine) June 5, 2018

I don’t think Rupaul Drags Race should be cancelled. My experience with draw queens has been opposite yours. Most of the ones I have met in places like beauty salons or nail stores have been nice towards me even though I was not their client. Now in a social setting like a club I never pay them too much attention (and neither do the men) bUT they were not nice. In general they looked at women like me as if we are a threat or something and most women like me think they don’t belong in straight clubs and they should be in gay clubs.

  5. stan June 5, 2018

the song is already back on spotify, so… what victory, exactly?

    • lmao June 5, 2018

lmao and it was never pulled from any other streaming sites or itunes. this fool is like her idol trump, she celebrates when she gets attention lmfaooo

  6. Jasmine (The Original Princess) June 5, 2018

Shitialia got some nerves talking about originality when all her songs sound like a cheap Vogue knockoff ?‍♂️

  7. BARB / JLOVER June 5, 2018

Not a good look if your core demographic is gay. Just saying

  8. Tray2 June 5, 2018

The song and the album are back on all streaming services.

TGJ has chosen to side with a homophobic and prejudicial woman who has talked about killing gay men, and black gay men specifically, mocked trans women and used slurs against arabs, muslims and asian people, all out of some misguided understanding of misogynoir and feminism, where they for some reason don’t understand that it’s feminist to check and clock a woman who actively works to do harm to minority groups. And all because they aren’t bothered to do their research and see that the ‘similarity’ Azaelia is whining about, is a sample cleared for both of them to use.

This is what TGJ is stretching to support. Sad.

  9. Curiously Curious June 5, 2018

Can we please stop giving her a platform? She’s only looking for relevancy. The way she handled this is totally ratchet and ghetto just like she is.

  10. Jaybee June 5, 2018

She finally won something in her life lol

    • Killian June 5, 2018

NOw this is the comment I’ve been waiting for !!!

  11. audreyherbsburn June 5, 2018

they turned a blind eye because the b**** deserved to be stolen from and not win… no one cares about the bad guy being victimized, and it’s no shade… she’s always the bad guy and they want people to care because she’s the victim this time… if they didn’t care when she was sexually assaulted, they damn sure didn’t care about this.

  12. Ropeburn June 5, 2018

Look at these folks, including David trying to cape for this old crazy lady. Reasonable people can disagree about the differences/similarities between RuPaul’s song and Azealia’s. But what y’all not finna do is make a woman who is well known for her racism, homophobia, and transphobia into a victim! And if you’re so worried about misogyny, perhaps you could start with some of the foul, hateful things that come out of Azealia’s mouth and her multiple Twitter accounts!

  13. Ropeburn June 5, 2018

Oh and one more thing…I just checked Google Play and Spotify and they’re still streaming RuPaul’s Call Me Mother!

  14. Jimbobgivafuck June 5, 2018

Next.. f*** her.. always crying wolf.. better yet always claiming misogyny when in fact it has nothing to do with her being a woman. It has to do with HER as a person, a rotten hateful one at that. Thatgrapejuice.net stop please giving her any publicity. This succubus thrives off it. #fin

  15. JD June 5, 2018

    You are perpetuating false information.

“Call Me Mother” only disappeared from Spotify for a few days before being reinstated due to there being no copyright infringement found.

And that tweet you referenced (“She issued this warning to his fans….”) was in reply to a Chicago drag queen named, Shea Couleé.

  16. ROCK June 6, 2018

    One week,one beef
    She keeps cancelling herself.
    Any fans left?

  17. Me June 6, 2018

I HATE that bee Azealia but in this instance: God, I about to choke….she…was…ri..ght! Damn that hurt…
