The American Music Awards 2018 were held earlier tonight live at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, California.
The Tracee Ellis-Ross hosted ceremony had many-a-highlight thanks to jaw-dropping performances from the likes of Post Malone, Ciara, Mariah Carey, Jennifer Lopez, Taylor Swift and many more, but the biggest star of the show – as expected – remained the awards themselves.

That’s some b******* that Drake didn’t win no awards. God’s Plan was #1 longer than Post Malone and Cardi B’s songs. How Cardi win Best Rap Artist when Drake and Post Malone had a bigger year on the charts than Cardi?Their songs were more successful. I call b*******.
It’s American music awards not billboard awards, chart success doesn’t equal an automatic win. Cardi had a breakout year so it makes sense. Duh. Plus post Malone sucks

I don’t necessarily agree with all the winners, but it’s also important to note that these awards are fan voted. So while Drake deserved wins in a lot of these categories based on the impact and success of the song… Drake fans simply aren’t tweeting and voting 10 times per day each day for weeks — Taylor Swift fans however, they the type to camp out two weeks without eating or showering just to get a picture.
