Kevin Hart has used the words of Martin Luther King to defend himself against the on-going heat he is facing following the unearthing of his homophobic tweets.

The quote in question?
“The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy.”
The actor/comedian used quote to respond to the ongoing media hurricane he is weathering after he was forced to pull out of his hosting gig at the forthcoming Oscars.
Unfortunately, his decision to pull Mr. King into the fray saw him met with a festival of insults struck up by critics.
The most scathing came from one who noted that Hart conveniently omitted the second half of the quote which reads:
“The true neighbor will risk his position, his prestige, and even his life for the welfare of others. In dangerous valleys and hazardous pathways, he will lift some bruised and beaten brother to a higher and more noble life.”
Suffice to say, the debate surrounding Hart’s initial comments, non-apology, and use of MLK verbiage isn’t likely to quell anytime soon. As always, what are…

As less as I care for his tweets, I hope he will vanish because of them. He is such a horrible actor and not funny at all
The problem here is that GAYS pick and choose whose comments they take offense to. If Kevin were a white male they would have no issue with what he said. He is a comedian so what he said was in jest! He already apologize. He needs to move on and let it go! Simply put, whites and blacks have a DIFFERENT sense of humor. White humor is dry and sometimes querky. Black humor is more straight-forward and the opposite of querky. Bottom Line: Apologize and Move On.
This is not a white or black issue, so please keep race out of it. It was offensive to the gay community and not everyone heard his first apology.
It is DEFINITELY a black vs white issue. If a white man made said the same exact things he would be deemed a funny comedian. GAYS pick and choose whose comments they take offense to. Plenty of white comedians say the same sh|t about gays and they take NO offense to it cause they are white:

Black folks tell white folks what’s offensive to them and not acceptable behavior then those same black folks do to gay folks what they accuse white folks of doing to them.
He ain’t have 60 million followers when he apologized. And outside him saying he apologized we don’t remember.
He had an opportunity to use his platform to speak out about unknown Injustice the most famous black entertainers won’t talk about Which is homophobia in the black community.
Now you don’t get to use the race card when you were wrong first.
If you apologized once, why not just reiterate that apology? #EGO
