These snippets convinced me…I am excited for this album. Although as a fan I did expect more, I love a lot of song off this album. I must admit, I did expect so much more for Ciara…but I think these songs from the snippets does the album some justice. I just wished Ciara challenged her vocal ability a bit more and calm it down with dance tracks

I just listened to the snippets, I am very excited about this album. Both Heavy Rotation and Yeah I Know sound like they can be really big hits for Ciara. Basic Instinct in stores 12-14-10, #TeamCiara stand up.

WOW! Not gonna lie, but the album sounds FIYAH! The production goes HARD! I wasn’t particularly sure about The Dream/Tricky doing the whole album, but they did the damn thing. It doesn’t sound as redundant as their other work. I just wish she had like 4 or 5 more songs since about 3-4 songs have already been released WAY before the album is released.

You can’t always judge from snippets but this album sounds like CiCi reached a happy medium between the pop “Goodies” Ciara and r&b “Evolution” Ciara.
Wants for Dinner,Heavy Rotation, Yeah I Know, Turn It Up and I Runt It and of course Ride are my favs so far.

Im disappointed they got rid of my fav song. The album as a whole is ok first listen certain songs stand out better than others. But after a few listens of the album its actually great it grows on you if you let it.
I heard the album back when they were doing first round for press release and review for Music sites. And the final a few weeks ago… It is her best album but at the same time it feels like it is over produced but thats what happens when u work with Tricky and Dream for nearly every song.

After a quick listen she might have a problem choosing the next single because there are some strong radio songs on this, especially ‘Yeah I Know’ and ‘What He Wants For Dinner’.
I know Jive being a typical record will probably push for the Usher track with a hot ass video.
I wish she had more ballads like the unreleased songs Up & Down and Secret.
No filler here – just good r&b and up tempo energy songs I can work out to lol

As much as I want to preview this I am gonna hold the excitement until it’s released. I think it was spoiled for her fans with her last album because 10 or 11 of the songs were leaked months before the release, but with this album I still haven’t like 6 or 7 of those songs. COME ON DECEMBER 14TH!!!!
btw when yall get the album and listen to “Heavy Rotation” full out and “You Can Get It” I bet you would think the same thing I did….”Is that the same sub beat as Like A Surgeon?” I really hope this album does well because it is good but I hope next album she stays way from Tricky and Dream and her usual go to producers. She needs someone new and fresh Glad she worked with Soundz and Infinity and Mike Molina.

We have already heard 6 out of 11 songs and the rest isn’t really groundbreaking to me. ‘Heavy Rotation’ sounds good, eventhough it has a dance vibe, ‘Yeah I Know’ is the best song to me so far & ‘Wants For Dinner’ and ‘Girls Get Your Money’ sound just plain stupid, btw the reggae influenced ‘Wants For Dinner’ doesn’t fit her, I think.

The album is average. Had her first but would not recommend to buy as her voice is monotone. She was way bigger than Rihanna but nowadays can not get a hit in the top 100.
She needs to work with Jazze Pha to make the charts. All her songs are the same. She should a be huge now as she is an excellent performer but I think the man rumours destroyed her and she needs to address them and show us her baby pics if she wants to be successful again.

Not impressed! 5 of the songs have already leaked and they are quite clearly the best ones…why should I buy the album? Basic Instinct’s going to be suffering the same (if not worse) as Fantasy Ride both for the same reasons -announcing that an album is ready before her label said it was! She needs to have consistant albums, she is well known for her urban up tempos and instead of giving us an album of mainly uptempos she serves up a boring mid-tempo album that she does not have the vocal capabilities to sell. How is she going to perform the entirity of this album live because I can’t see people being interested in anything other than what she’s already released as singles or leaked. Shame because she has the talent but whoever her A&R are need to get their act together!

I’m not happy with this album at all, i really though ciara was gonna bring it with this album because she was going back to the music she love rather than doing what’s trendy in the charts. but from what i heard she gone all the way back to her first album. the evolution has been her best album because it was ciara sound & you could hear what she was influenced by. but ever since that album she seem to be stuck making the same kinds of song with no growth. it’s a shame, i hate 10-11 track albums because i don’t think you get your money’s worth, your album has to have nonstop hits & timeless song like MJ Thriller to make me buy a 10 track album.
I don’t know what producers she working with but she need to work with jazzy pha again because he seem to understand her sound. It would be nice to see her work with rich Harrison. If she want dance record that are trendy she could do a funky house track, neyo did closer which was a big hit.

Really don’t want to be mean to Ciara because I really do believe she got a raw deal (behind the scenes) this year.
I like four songs on the album but that is just a matter of taste because I like more of an R&B feel whereas that joint she did with Usher was more UK house-sounding music to me. I haven’t liked house music since like 1994. Even then I could only stomach so much of it.
I think the album is ok, it just was not promoted right. Probably due to internal bickering. I also think she should have worked with more producers.
Maybe I’m blinded and just have a thing for people that perform well live. I love people that can KILL choreography.
I’ m so ready for this album to drop but every time it becomes close it drops back to another date. Like the last date, IDK maybe she want to make sure the material is good to avoid a decline in sells. I’ll still be the one to get it though.

I dont agree with those commenting about Ciara not showing any growth, I think she do, very much and therefore I regard her as being on the same level as Aaliyah – and I love both of them!
At the same time, there are alot of people who actually enjoys listening to Ciaras singing, it might not be the strongest, but she can express feelings with it, it’s very calm and soft.
Basic Instinct sounds like a solid album. I’m going to buy it!
Just heard JLewis’ version of “Shut Em Up”. ARE YOU KIDDING ME!?!?!?!?!?!?!? If I were Ciara, I would throw my hands up and say “f*** it” to the music industry. Her version is clearly superior. I will keep my fingers crossed that the JLewis track never takes off…cause that’s A DAMN SHAME.
it was me who commented about ciara growth, i just feel like after the evolution her sound hasn’t change its not grown in a way that i hear all her influences musically. I’m a ciara fan so when i heard you got me/ basic instinct i was excited. i though she would go back to what she did with her second album but still keeping her sound fresh & moving on to the next level. fantasy ride was a good album but there was something missing in that album. The evolution i love every song & could’nt stop listening to it.
I’m a big aaliyah fan when i listen to one and a million, then listen to aaliyah last album i can hear the growth in her vocals, her musical influences, the album flows but it still has her sound.
someone said if you don’t like it don’t listen to the illegal leak but it’s on Amazon so i don’t see how it’s an illegal leak.
i don’t mind buying a 10-11 track album if its full of great timeless songs but if its only got album fillers which are forgettable it’s a waste of money for me. Teedra Moses album has 13-14 track but i love every song & I’ve been listening to that album for 5 years now.
if you look at ciara influences like janet jackson her sound grown over the years but she still janet.

UGH Sorry but NO. This does not sound like a cohesive album, just full of ghetto ATL anthems, no songs with substance. I may be wrong so I’ll bootleg the album then give it a thorough listen. But as of now, NO SIR.
“Turn It Up” is a sure-fire hit and will rise up the pop/mainstream charts if it’s released as a single.
From what I hear, they aren’t bad. At least this time, she staying with what she does best. I thought she strayed away from her sound on the last album. She’s not a “powerhouse vocalist” and she don’t have to be. Janet Jackson wasn’t and she made great music anyways.
I am not put Ci on JJ’s Level, just making a comparison because their tone is similar and their music is also. I think her stan base will love the album from what I hear. I am not sure if she will expand her base, but it will please the stan base though and that’s all that matter. I say she will probably Gold in the States and a possible plat because of this.
2 everyone complaining about the track list, No one TOLD any of you’s to listen to the songs the LEAKED online! What do u expect in this day in age with technology? SOngs get LEAKED no MATTER the artist. You expect them to go back into the studio to record more msuic because you can’t wait until it’s officially released? It’s not cheap for an artist to Keep making Music especially with the involvment of RECORD LABLES! These people have Bosses too People, they’ve got to satisfy more than just the fans. Good grief
