This may be why the 40-year-old R&B icon feels there’s no more capable actress to portray her in her long-rumored biopic than herself. Taking to our radio friends at WBLS 107.5 (New York) recently, the songstress – celebrating the critical acclaim of her recent release ‘Love Again’ with Daniel Caesar (click here to listen) – dropped by to dish on the creation of the tune, finishing up her long-awaited new solo album, and confirmed work on her own biopic.

While she did not confirm a tentative release date or how the biographical film will be formatted (i.e. made-for-TV or opening in theaters), we appreciate word that the movie’s creation is underway and look forward to how she’ll depict the major figures in her life including Whitney Houston, Monica, Robert Smith, Rodney Jerkins, and more.
Love again is great. I’m sure this new album will be amazing. Not feeling her wardrobe choices these days. And if Monica is depicted in her biopic, that would be very interesting.
This is ridiculous click-bait. Clearly she said @ 4:38 she would play herself ‘at certain parts’ of the biopic. She did not say she was playing herself the whole biopic so clearly she means she would play the adult version of Brandy. This article takes her words out of context.
And you apparently didn’t read because it appears this person was just making a blanket statement-solely based on their opinion- that a depiction of Monica would be interesting, considering their careers are somewhat similar and intertwined. You comprehension is skewed.

After listening to the interview, it sounded like she was speaking metaphorically. As if she were stating that her upcoming music would be her biopic? I’m not sure but I am ready for some solo music.

Never Say Never/Moesha defined my childhood.
However, my girl know she is too damn old to be portraying the 17 year old version of herself at the height of her career. It would look so much better if she opened up this opportunity for a newcomer to get some shine. Just like Whitney did for her when she handpicked Brandy to play Cinderella.
