Can you believe that The Parkers turned 20 yesterday (August 30th 2019.)
Only right then that we celebrate the impactful, positive and hilarious show by making it the subject of this week’s ‘Retro Rewind.’
The series was built to follow the lives of Moesha characters Kim and Nikki Parker after viewers of the Brandy-fronted show gave UPN good reason to believe that a spin-off would soar on a ratings front. They were right.
So, with help from the late and eternally great Yvette Wilson, Countess Vaughn and Mo’Nique launched the show on August 30th 1999 alongside Dorien Wilson, Jenna von oy and Ken Lawson.
Take that journey to the past with us below…
This show is GEM own all the seasons and can never get over any episode. They don’t make em like they use with shows like The Parkers, Martin, Moesha, All That, Kenan and Kel, Saved by the bell, Living Single, Fresh Prince, Family Matters, Cosby, Sister Sister, ect
Don’t forget ‘Cousin Skeeter’, ‘Static Shock’, and ‘Clueless’ (before Stacey Dash was problematic ?)
& Girlfriends ?
