The rapper French Montana may be forced to address claims that someone working on his behalf hacked into several Spotify accounts and streamed his single ‘Writing on the Wall‘ in a bid to rescue it from commercial doom.

‘Writing’ features Cardi B and Post Malone but failed to sell or stream enough units to push it into the Billboard Hot 100’s Top 40.
Months later, the song enjoyed a resurgence in popularity on Spotify where it became one of the highest-streamed tracks on the platform last week much to the delight of the star’s loyalists.
Alas, troubled reared its ugly head when a number of fans realised that the song was still tanking on every other platform and suspected that its ascent on Spotify was fuelled by foul play.
Now, there is talk of taking legal action.
