Gaga is going to dominate in 2011 for sure. Britney untalented Spears is gonna have big succes at first and that´s it, it´s been like that since 2004 or more. And wasn´t Beyonce going to release her first single in a matter of weeks last November??? I suppose she has decided to wait till the end of the year, too much competition and she can not risk. Of course we have to wait and see the music they serve but things are pretty clear. Gaga is going to dominate worldwide.

Whenever I read comparison of Gaga to Britney and other artists that have been around longer and I listen to Gaga fans say how she’s better because she is number one and everything I can’t help but wonder where is their common sense. I mean in the past whenever a mega star (Madonna, Britney, Michael, JLo) breaks out he is always on top of everything, number one in many lists, creates fashion styles, etc. But being on top ALWAYS stops. And that has nothing to do with the value of an artist. It’s just how things work. What matters is what happens after that initial success. I find it stupid to compare a star when he is on his breakout phase (Gaga) and an established mega star after many years of career (Britney). It is fair and logical to compare Gaga’s success to Britney’s first years (and sorry but Britney wins that one) but saying Gaga is better because Britney after ten years sells less doesn’t make any sense. If we follow Gaga fans’ arguments then Madonna is a loser compared to Gaga… That being said in my opinion the true success is when an artist remains relevant and successful (not necessarily no 1) even after his breakout phase. After he is the “fresh new meat”. That’s why I bow to Madonna and Britney. And that’s why I would wait a few years before I start saying all these big words for Gaga.
@ Casey, thanks for having common sense! I don’t understand either how an artist big selling debut makes them better than artist that have been around for a decade or 2 or 3! It makes no sense at all. I do gain respect and place people on another level once they’ree on album #3. That’s when you see what their made of. The 1st one is all hype – when their the breaout star(as you said), the 2nd still rides off the success of the 1st in most cases. The 3rd requires that you keep people’s interest, while new people are on the scene. If you look at it, alot of flash in the pan artist fade out around this time. Even some artist that beat the odds, hit a slump with album #3. I think it’s the true test.
