The BBC is determined to dissolve the barriers which block black creatives from soaring in the work place.

The British Broadcasting Corporation announced plans to combat systemic racism by launching a £100 million scheme which will invest in projects which will offer the general public fair and accurate portrayals of black people within all genres of television.
The move was made to combat the racism the black community has faced globally for centuries and dismantle the systems which exist within the entertainment industry which reinforce it.

The senseless killing of George Floyd – and what it tells us about the stain of systemic racism – has had a profound impact on all of us.
It’s made us question ourselves about what more we can do to help tackle racism – and drive inclusion within our organisation and in society as a whole.
This is our response – it’s going to drive change in what we make and who makes it. It’s a big leap forward – and we’ll have more to announce in the coming weeks.
Hall’s platform is home to a number of shows fronted by black actors and made the announcement as it rides high on the wave that is ‘I May Destroy You’ which stars the Ghanaian actress Michaela Coel.
