Few albums boast the buzz that surrounds Adele‘s fourth studio effort.
It’s been five years since the chart-titan unleashed her last LP and excitement for its follow-up is reaching pitch.
As is customary with the star, details surrounding the project have been shrouded in secrecy.
However, a new report appears to have poured flavoursome tea.

Per a British newspaper, the songbird has been taking creative flight with Raphael Saadiq.
A source revealed that she has “been a fan of Raphael since she was a teenager and loves his back catalogue,” and that “she wants her next album to be full of soul, with a more eclectic sound.”
Renowned for his stints in groups Tony! Toni! Toné! and Lucy Pearl, Saadiq has amassed an equally impressive catalogue as a producer – helming hits for legends such as Whitney Houston and Mary J. Blige. The eclectic talent also exec produced Solange‘s GRAMMY-winning, culture-shifting album ‘A Seat At The Table’ too.
Interestingly, the same source touts John Legend as being in the mix of the successor to 2015’s ’25.’
Beyond his own list of achievements (which includes earning EGOT status), the star has a rich history as a songwriter and producer, crafting classics for the likes of Lauryn Hill (‘Everything Is Everything’) and Estelle (‘American Boy’).

Notable for her bellowing ballads, it’s safe to expect some of that on Adele’s next set. However, we definitely would be embracing of fresh sounds, topics, and sonics. Because, with her possessing such a versatile voice, there are so many possibilities as to what she could cook up.
Why does adele get a pass for stealing black people’s music.

19, 21, nor 25 are considered RnB by anyone. Adele has never (to my knowledge) made a hip hop record collaboration as a solo or featured act.
Adele is a pop/rock artists w/ a VERY soulful vocal singing style. She can sound like a jazz or blues/soul singer because of the timbre of her vocal sound.
Therefore, Adele = Adele.
Not Justin Timberlake or Bieber or Iggy… those are the real culture vultures.

RnB is not the only culture Black people have. Adele is pulling from the Black archives and doing vintage Black American soul music. So she is by definition a culture vulture.

I’m sorry but I disagree. The majority of Adele’s music is mostly pop/rock. Her VOCAL styling is soulful and blues/ jazz-y. NOT her RECORDS. Adele has NOT attempted blatant RnB or hip hop sounds in her album PRODUCTION. I dont know why you think her sounding ‘black’ makes her a culture vulture?!
So by your definition is Amy Winehouse Joss Stone Duffy Lisa Stanfield and so MANY other white British acts w/ that sound are they culture vultures or just naturally gifted soul singers that happen to be white?
There is a difference and I wish folks would stop labeling every white act that has a natural soul/blues/jazz inflected voice a culture vulture.
John Legend did not “craft” Everything is Everything. He played piano on it. He doesn’t have a producing or writing credit. Y’all really need to do better.
I read the same thing and was like WTF?!?! HA! He PLAYED piano…..he did NOT write or produce a thing for that song! Perhaps he sharpened Lauryn’s pencil, but that doesn’t mean he “crafted” anything.

Lord this woman seems like a refreshingly nice down to earth gal with good intentions and she sells but her music is the epitome of DULLLLLL.
She has never sounded soulful and after the critically acclaimed magic Raphael did for Joss Stone (see: album “Introducing” namely: “Arms of My Baby” “Bad Habit” and “Girl They Won’t Believe It”.
Maybe he can make Adele sound like she’s not trying to push out a cow in the breach position – just MAYBE 🤦🏾♂️ As for John Legend. I cannot today. He sounds like he pushing out a muscular giraffe made of stone. No ‘Mam. NO. ☝🏾✋🏾🚫

Oh please. You obviously don’t know. He’d have a production credit if that were the case. I’m 99.9% sure the producer came up with the keyboard melody on their sound board and wanted a live sound that John played. John didn’t “produce” anything. He’d have that credit if that were the case.
