Nelly is coming to the big screen.
The rapper has signed on to play rock ‘n’ roll pioneer Chuck Berry in the Buddy Holly-inspired biopic ‘Clear Lake.’
Full story below…
The movie produced by, Rick French, Stuart Benjamin, David Hirshland, and Kathy Rivkin Daum, will begin with Holly’s teen years before moving on to his 1958 Biggest Show of Stars tour with Clarence Collins. Together, the pair broke racial barriers all across the U.S. that year.
The film will also star Colin Hanks, Ruairi O’Connor, and Diane Guerrero, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
O’Connor will play Holly, Hanks will play Norman Petty (Holly’s manager and producer), and Guerrero will play Maria Elena Holly.
Needless to say, it will be interesting to watch Nelly – who is currently competing on ‘Dancing With The Stars’ – flex his acting chops as one of music’s greatest legends.
Well he is from STL just like the king of rock himself, Chuck Berry (and queen of rock, Tina) so this should be a an interesting watch.
