Megan Thee Stallion trots through the mind of Akademiks quite a bit it seems.
At the top of the year, the blogger/DJ-turned-Web personality sent the rapper’s fans – affectionately called #Hotties – into a frenzy when he said the GRAMMY winner wasn’t ‘100th of the talent’ of her ‘Hot Girl Summer’ co-star Nicki Minaj (as we reported here).
As if the unceremonious slamming he was for that afforded wasn’t enough, he returned for more this week – inciting furor after Stallion’s 2021 BET Award sweep.

On Sunday (June 27), Meg entered the BET Awards as its most nominated (and later most winning) act of the night (click here to see the full winner’s list). Later, Akademiks – possibly pressed by the victories – went on a tirade.
“I guess I’ll start by saying this: I am now in belief that Meg Thee Stallion’s career has been propelled, overhyped, and also put on a pedestal because of this whole Black girl magic, protect Black women [movement]. I’m sorry,” he says in the recorded clip.
Referring to her as ‘overhyped’ and ‘an industry plant’ at points during the recording, the 30-year-old asserted her success is the direct result of public sympathy from allegedly being shot by fellow rapper Tory Lanez.
“She just dropped it’s called ‘Good News.’ It’s mid. It’s mid. And if it was anyone we liked that dropped a mid album that wasn’t being seen as a victim who we need to uplift and just act like the fact that she’s doing it is good enough, he said before later continuing, “She could fart on a song and people would be like ‘Oh my god, that is the sweet, sweet, sweet sound of being a victim…protect her, she is Black and she is a woman.’”
Needless to say, his commentary didn’t sit well with #Hotties.
Megan is a whole thot but DJ Akademiks is a loser with no legacy or fanbase. Who is checking for Dj Akademiks outside of his messy rants?

I remember my friend sending me a freestyle of her on IG one day and then out of nowhere, the blink of an eye…she’s the next best thing since sliced bread but I won’t lie, I was rooting for her heavy because her flow is undeniable. Or at least at the time it was but now she’s overhyped and overplayed and the theme behind her music is boring.
Good News was actually more like Bad News imo and really didn’t live up to the hype for such a long awaited album. In comparison to Cardi B who’s an actual good performer, she’s another mediocre talent getting by on the celebration of her personality rather than talent. Her Bet performance was underwhelming and left me wanting more from her. We shall see what the next 2 years hold for her and if she will actually stand the test of time.
Facts I listened to Good News one time and never went back! Didn’t do anything for me. Now Doja Cat new album I be PLAYING THAT OUT!!!!!

Hmmmm I can’t say that I disagree with this! I just told someone Doja is wayyyy better artistry wise yet she keep getting slept on and Megan gets all the awards. And I told them she getting sympathy because of losing her family and the shooting. Doja really deserves all those awards Meg got. I’m not gone say she don’t deserve some talent but she hasn’t proven herself to me as a consumer. Some songs I like but all she talk about is shaking ass, cash, drinking, and f******.
