James Bay – Chasing Stars

James Bay is back with new music and this time he has teamed with EDM superstars Alesso and Marshmello. Together, they create a radio-friendly jam that is packed to the brim with a burning guitar line, a twinkling piano, and atmospheric synths. Bay’s immaculate vocals lead the way in one of his best showings in recent years. All-in-all, they have created one of the most interesting, well-done songs in each of their assorted discographies, a true star that shows just how bright each of them shine.

Jaden – Summer

Jaden is back with the laid-back anthem of the summer with his latest single of the same name. A crisp trap beat, hazy synths, and pounding backbeat lay the foundation for the rapper to reminisce over a summer fling that has since passed. The perfect balance of heartbreak and fun, summer may be hot, but Jaden proves that he brings the heat on this track. ‘Summer’ is set to appear on his upcoming ‘CTV Day Trippers Edition’ and if this is a taste of what is to come, it will be a must-listen album.

Sam Williams – Kids

Music runs in Sam Williams’ veins. He is the grandson of Hank Williams and the son of Hank Williams Jr. However, on his debut album ‘Glasshouse Children,’ he proves that he is ready to make his own lane. This is clear on the Keith Urban-assisted ‘Kids.’ A delicious slice of expansive dream-pop, this tune is steeped in sweeping production. From the haunting guitar in the background, to the steady drums, and subtle, shimmering synths, Williams completes the sound with his delivery immersed in longing. Easily one of the best dream-pop songs of the year, Williams is here to prove that he is a star in his own right, one that burns brighter than the rest.

Kevin Abstract – Sierra Nights

Brockhampton member Kevin Abstract is gearing-up for the release of his third studio album and it could be his best yet. Case in point, the expansive ‘Sierra Nights,’ which features Ryan Beatty. Across the track, Abstract tells the story of his childhood through a more thoughtful, matured lens. This multi-part epic is a slow burn with skittering trap beats, choir-like backing vocals, and pounding drums. However, Abstract is able to build a universe all his own, one that is worthy of getting lost in forever. Nothing short of marvelous, Abstract proves once again why he is one of the brightest musical minds making music right now.
