The latest installment in the ‘Power’ universe, ‘Power Book IV: Force,’ definitely brought the force to STARZ Sunday (February 6) with its long-awaited premiere.
Toplined by Joseph Sikora (who stars as the show’s beloved lead character Tommy Egan), the ‘Power Book IV’ premiere followed the equally anticipated season 2 finale of its forerunner, ‘Power Book II: Ghost‘ (starring Michael Rainey Jr., Mary J. Blige, and others), which aired the same night.
Look inside to see how the newest spinoff of ‘Power’ is not only keeping the legacy of the original series alive, but is breaking network records in the process.
Total Viewership = 3.3 Million
Across all platforms, 3.3 million tuned in to watch the debut of Tommy Egan’s ‘Power’ spinoff – a record-setting viewership figure for any series premiere at STARZ. 801,000 of those views came from television alone, making it the only scripted series to rank in the top 15-rated cable shows that aired February 6.
The rest of the premiere’s millions of views were accumulated from DVR figures, viewership on the STARZ app, and Sunday views from major streamers like Hulu and Amazon Prime.
Elated by the success, Jeffrey Hirsch, President and CEO at STARZ, took to press to say:
“The ‘Power’ Universe continues to deliver worldwide hit series with incredible performance that compares favorably with many other high-profile streaming series. We’re excited to see these strong early numbers for the premiere of ‘Power Book IV: Force,’ which is poised to join our growing lineup of tentpole series at STARZ that have global multiplatform season average views in the nine to ten million range.”
Executive produced by Courtney A. Kemp and Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson, ‘Power Book IV: Force’ airs Sundays at 9 pm ET on STARZ.
