10 years after her untimely death, the perdurable legacy of Whitney Houston – one of music history’s brightest stars ever – lives on.
Amid reports her estate continues to rake in big bucks for media, merchandise, and events based on her likeness (i.e. hologram concert, documentaries, etc.), its revenue – which has quadrupled in the years since the singer’s passing – is set to expand even more thanks to a number of new projects in the works slated for release next year.
Details inside:
As diehard Houston fans prepare themselves for her first authorized big screen biopic, the December-due ‘I Wanna Dance with Somebody’ starring Naomi Ackie, the film’s soundtrack will act as one of three new Whitney-inspired music projects to land between now and next summer.
The other two, a Gospel album and live album, will be released in 2023 as part of a celebration to commemorate what would’ve been her 60th birthday.
“Clive [Davis] will indeed be involved with the soundtrack,” says Primary Wave founder and CEO Larry. Primary Wave works with Houston’s estate to execute such plans. “He is not currently involved with Broadway show or Vegas concept, but he is always welcome to participate in anything we do involving Whitney and her music. He has been a critical partner in the movie project.”
If those aren’t enough to drum up excitement, reports have it Broadway will be welcoming a biographical musical based the late singer’s life. While no official premiere date is attached to that project yet, it’s reported the live theater show will come after the release of the big screen biopic.
The news above comes shortly after the estate delivered word the controversial Whitney Houston hologram tour is set to resume in Europe before making a run to the United States.
STFU Pat. We don’t like you.
She’s a snake. They need to let Whitney Rest In Peace.
I can’t believe her family just lets Pat do all of this. Allegedly
Wish they let her and her legacy alone. She will always be the voice with or without this estate releases anyway
