Could a collaboration between Country queen Dolly Parton and Rap princess Cardi B be just the duet we never knew we needed?
Ahead of pulling double duty as hostess and performer at the Academy of Country Music Awards Monday night (March 7), Parton hit the promo trail in support of her high-profile gig.
While stopping at E! News’ ‘Daily Pop,’ the Country icon – who is no stranger to penning hits for and collaborating with artists from other genres over her 6-decade career – made it clear she has no desire to stop blurring the musical lines. Among those she’s hoping to do so with in the future is Rap star Cardi B.
Praising the ‘WAP’ hitmaker as ‘original’ and quite the ‘character,’ Dolly said she’s open to booking studio time with the hitmaker ‘if she’s willing.’
Elsewhere in the conversation, the 76-year-old said she’d love for Pop icon Cher to get in on the fun.
“I would love to do something with her sometime, a TV show or a movie,” Dolly said of Cher. “We’ll have Cardi B on that same show, let Cher host it, and me and Cardi B will be the entertainment.”
