And it quite literally sees the film keep it in the family.
Because the megastar’s nephew has been cast to play him.

Moments ago, it was revealed that Jaafar Jackson – son of MJ’s brother Jermaine Jackson – has landed the coveted role in the Antoine Fuqua–directed movie.
Sharing the news with a picture of himself transforming into his legendary uncle, the 26-year-old singer/songwriter wrote:
“I’m humbled and honored to bring my Uncle Michael’s story to life. To all the fans all over the world, I’ll see you soon.”

I think this is a great idea and probably as close to home for MJ as you can get. IDK how good this kid can dance though. I’m sure he can get the basics down but nobody can touch MJ in that regard. BUT the casting choice is good. I was afraid that they’d do too much.
I still think MJ is probably the most difficult person to portray on film. Even with the nephew playing the part, I think it’s a big risk. I can see this movie eliciting unwanted laughs if the voice and physical appearance is too theatrical. If they can pull it off, I’ll be one of the first in line to see it.
