Just days after music lovers had their hopes heightened that Rihanna‘s return to the road was right around the corner, a “high-level source” who would have had a direct hand in curating said plans has confirmed none exist.

Rihanna fans, affectionately called #TheNavy, had already seen hope for new music and a subsequent tour sail away in February when the diva used her long-awaited stage comeback (the 2023 Super Bowl Halftime Show) to announce her second pregnancy.

Since then, murmurs of the mom-of-two’s next musical endeavor had been mum until news broke last week indicating she was gearing up for a massive 2024 comeback.

Now, those hopes have been dashed by an anonymous source who has taken to Billboard to refute the report.

Calling the announcement “bogus,” the unidentified source spoke exclusively with the site to share that while Live Nation would “love to” put a Rih tour on the books she has not confirmed any intent to hit the road next year or the year after.

“Live Nation has not placed any holds on venues for a potential tour. Typically, when a promoter begins booking a tour for a major artist, they will call different venues on the tour route and ask venue bookers to reserve various dates on their calendar to accommodate different routing scenarios for an upcoming tour. If Rihanna and Live Nation were to sign a deal, it would likely take several months to hammer out a potential tour route,” Billboard revealed.

Rih has yet to directly respond to the initial report.
