Despite previously calling out Billboard for their alleged attempt to misrepresent the true sales figure attached to ‘Pink Friday 2,’ the December 8-released project still managed to move 228,000 total units by the end of its inaugural sales week.
In addition to being Nicki’s best opening since 2014’s ‘The PinkPrint’ (which debuted at #2 to the tune of 244,000), the ‘PF2’ premiere marks the largest launch any female Rap album has had this decade – zooming past the 109,000 units that led the previous titleholder, ‘Planet HER’ by Doja Cat, to a top 5 debut in 2021.
A history-making entry, the #1 arrival of ‘PF2’ marks the first time any rapstress has ever earned three Billboard 200 chart-toppers over her career.
What’s more, it extends the Rap Queen’s reign as the most-decorated top 10 female rapper in the chart’s existence (7).
While she joins Missy Elliott, Foxy Brown, Lizzo, and Eve in Billboard history books as the only female rappers to have a top 10 studio album on the all-genre chart in more than one decade, Nicki is the first and only to boast having #1s in two different decades.

Even though they took some of her sales, this is still pretty good. congratz to her and it’s a solid album too, I’m enjoying it.
Nicki Minaj’s entire career is based on mass-buying and streaming campaigns during the first week of a project by the barbz to make her look more important than she actually is. Nobody outside of the barb fanbase cares about this album, and it has not been that well-received by the critics (2.5 stars by Slant Magazine; 6.5/10 by Pitchfork).
When will Nicki learn that without classics, you can never be considered the Queen? It doesn’t matter how much numbers you do. Numbers come and go. Classics sustain your legacy. Nicki doesn’t even have a single Bodak Yellow in her entire discography.
I agree with this. No one IRL is discussing or listening to her album. I checked Ticketmaster and my city isn’t sold out. They still have regular seats available for $55. You can check, NOLA. Other artists sell out in a day and resellers start doing their thing, or Ticketmaster will double the prices due to high demand. There’s no demand for her……
