‘Dopamine’ – which home to singles ‘1:59’ featuring Gunna and ‘Candy Paint’ – has blazed its way into the top 10 of Apple Music US.
As of writing, it currently sits at #9.
Coupled with ample traction of social media, it suggests a solid start for the project – which had taken on somewhat of a mythical aura in recent times.

I just don’t understand why there’s zero promo for the album. Other than a few magazines that no one’s gonna read. No visuals, no performances, no YouTube podcasts or anything.
I understand she might struggling find a stage to book. But She ain’t even trying to do a backyard session… looks where is the effort? She doesn’t know how to marketing herself…
I think it’s part of her new record deal and she’s only got distribution this time? Kind of like Nicki’s Pink Friday 2, no visuals for any of the lead singles. Normani’s pretty much an independent now.
At first I assumed she was playing the mysterious reclusive role similar to Beyonce, now I feel like her label hasn’t given her a budget to do these things. Something is very off. She announced the album months ago and literally did NOTHING in between.
Well maybe it’ll sell. I don’t think people are hyped. Music is very boring these days.

No promo in today’s market means no sales. I don’t care what the hype is. This album roll out is giving very NO BUDGET. Even her listening party was in a parking garage….but BET awards are on Sunday and she couldn’t even book that on the weekend her album is out. Something is very off. 6 years for this album and it still seems like she was not prepared.

Brandy “featuring” in Insomnia, wasted opportunity. She’s barely there. They probably had to cut Brandy’s vocals….. B has more technical range, contralto to soprano. I think N is mezzo soprano.
Arghhh frustrating but okay, I’m not a massive N fan, but I had hopes that, with this much time crafting the album – she’d deliver a classic – something innovative. It’s easy listening but it doesn’t go anywhere. Unfortunately this is not on a par with debut albums of the likes of Brandy, Monica, Aaliyah…Ashanti’s debut is better than Dopamine – their albums have classic hits. Maybe it’s the lack of catchy hooks to make the songs memorable for the general public.
I feel sorry for her. Seems like she doesn’t have a strong team behind her – a consistent and guiding production team. Brandy had Keith Crouch. Monica Dallas Austin. Aaliyah R… and her uncle. And later Tim and Missy. Ashanti Irv Gotti etc. etc. Dopamine fails to show Normani’s personality. I think Tinashe’s debut shows more personality and artistry. Normani should either leave RCA, find a new label or go independent. Either way she needs a better team. Same goes for Chloe.
Chloe actually had a strong rollout, visuals and was heavy on promo and tour. Fans didn’t have to wait long at all.

also comparing the rollout of either albums is hilarious considering it didn’t work anyways. normani pulled bigger numbers, obviously would’ve been bigger had we had visuals and promo

Safe to say this will be normanis first and LAST album.
it’s already outstreamed in pieces and outsold on itunes so we will see. dopamine is a better body of work but its too early to see if anything sticks. Also why would this be her last album and not chloe? Dopamine has been recieved way better by gp and critics. yall are coping pretty hard
Dopamine is solid comparatively to Chloes debut but I doubt it lands on the BB200. Big boy should have been the Single with a video. But unlike on in pieces The Dopamine album lacked vocal moments and strong bridges in place of stronger production quality than in pieces.
She’s underrated member of fifth harmony. I’m glad she’s finally getting the recognition she deserves
