RHOA Star Peter Thomas Sentenced to 18 Months in PRISON After Pleading GUILTY in Tax Case

Published: Thursday 19th Dec 2024 by Sam

Peter Thomas, famed for his run on the ‘Real Housewives of Atlanta,’ is heading to prison.

The restauranteur, who was married to Cynthia Bailey, pleaded guilty this summer to one count of failure to pay trust fund taxes. He was charged with repeatedly evading paying taxes between 2017 and 2023 across his businesses such as Bar One.

Today (December 19), Thomas was sentenced to 18 months in prison.

Dialing into the specifics of the infractions, Thomas owed $650,000 in trust fund taxes from his employees’ wages in Charlotte, North Carolina. More broadly, he’s accused of not paying more than $2.5 million in employment taxes across several states over a 6-year frame.

Taking to social media before the ruling was made, Thomas (who knew he was facing time behind bars) expressed regret and called for young folk to see him as a cautionary tale.
