Check out the latest visual offering from her ‘4’ LP below!
Definitely a way to bring the song back to the attention of buyers who initially shot the cut into the top 20 after her now famous VMA performance. Naturally, given the video does not stray far from the MTV showing. However, that works a double-edged sword for fans who didn’t want the re-hash.
Its hard to say the clip doesn’t leave you wanting a bit more. A bit more tossing, diva-tude, something. Still we like.

Say what you want but her videos these days look low budget and lack any type of concept except her trying to pay homage to whoever. I missed the days when videos had a story line and concept to them. Where are the Hype Williams and Bille Woodruffs because who ever directed this video is trash. Call it like I see it. Beyonce is a beautiful and talented entertainer, no one is taking that away from her, but this video NO FUC&ING MAM!

To be honest i F****** loved it, it’s simple but that’s why it is amazing! I’m gonna watch this over and over again, LOVED it, she looked really cute and having fun, and also since Countdown video and Love On Top video premiered, i fell in love with the songs, imma need to give a 2nd listen to 4, i may be missing other great amazing songs. Great job Beyonce, you hit it right with this video.

Her vids r without the frills except on her where she is the spolight and really nothing else on the video like the backups, etc. No big difference from that of the DC days.

Tbh, I really dont care who released it but that it was released now, TODAY, today when today is the same day the aussie tv releases interview from different angles to shoot down the claims that bump is fake, and from last Sunday interview from which the baby bump issue arose. This vid was scheduled to have been released last Thursday and then changed to tomorrow Monday. Now all of a sudden and without notice, they release this vid. People WOULD talk about that too, LIKE ME.

It was pretty much exactly how I expected it to be…..too cute, low budget but cute! Beyonce just looked adorable, especially with the sailor hat and sneakers! She was getting! Lol! Since they didn’t leave the studio setting, I’m glad they did the costume changes! It was cute how she changed outfits for each different register of the bridge. It was a nice change without actually changing the setting. The sailor hat & sneakers were my favorite though!
I don’t like how they just cut the second verse out like that! That was my favorite! But oh well, the video did pretty much exactly what it was intended for, providely a visual for one of the most liked tracks on the album, but kept it simple since it wasn’t a single.
Oh and before the R****** stans start talking s*** just know that Beyonce did more in this video pregnant than your fave has done in her entire career! DEAL!

I’ve always found individuals who make up fantasies about those with dissenting opinions to likely be more pitiful than they accusse others of. Please explain what exactly I need to deal with…or perhaps you believe Beyonce’s life effects everyone as much as it consumes and controls your’s.
My only issue is that she cut the second verse for some reason, other than that I think the video fit the song to a T. The feel & production of the song is so throwback 80s that I would’ve been surprised if she hadn’t have done a throwback video & I’m glad she chose new edition. She looks beautiful & the choreography is fun & energetic.
@MILES the song itself sounds like it was taken straight from the 80s. It is one of the few songs in which taking something so exactly from that era makes complete sense. In fact, it wouldn’t have made sense if she didn’t do something of this nature for this particular song.

Awesome I love it. It is one of my favorite songs off her “4” album along with “party”. Simplicity could be the best sometimes and if reflects on this video. She took it back ol school to and gave homage to the Motown era as well as some of the 80’s groups. You go Beyonce you are awesome.

I really think that Beyonce knows just when to strip things down to the basics. A true performer can affored to do that. She relied on her talent, showmanship and ability to entertain and it was all that was necessary. The song has an old motown throwback feel to it, so of course the look of the video (dancers and mics included) was what the video was calling for – begging for actually. Some people will see New Edition, the Temptations, etc. Just be honest, the concept was a no-brainer! This video matched the song and was a perfect fit visually. I’m sure some people want to pick it apart no matter what, but this was very solid.

The video is a reimagining of New Edition’s If it Isn’t Love. I think many are not familiar with that era of videos. Unless you were MJ or Prince, you didn’t have big budget videos in R&B. Whitney didn’t even have big budget videos back then. Otherwise, I read Michael Bivins say he liked it. Least someone is paying tribute to those guys. They don’t get enough credit. Otherwise, it’s cute and the cutting of the verse may be due to it being a part of the video anthology. Same thing happened with Kitty Kat. Verses were cut out to make room for the other videos.

I don’t even count 1+1 as a real video, I thought the Countdown video was cute but a song like that could have used more choreography, and I felt like some of the scenes in the BTINH video could have been more developed but I think this video is the best since RTW. I love the choreography. I think the ‘less is more’ approached work well for this song and video. The song and moves feel so old school and I love it!

I know I’m really giving my age away but the members of New Edition are only roughly three to five years older than me and I can clearly remember when ‘Candy Girl’ (their first single) came out. I am very familiar with all of the subsequent videos during their career up to and including ‘If It Isn’t Love.’ I watched that video countless numbers of times when it first came out and I did not think of it at all when I saw the MTV performance or clips of this video. Some of these copy claims are just plain ridiculous. Some of the old school type choreography in this video could be compared to several groups that were out before, with, and after New Edition. The choreography goes well with the song. I think the members of New Edition would be the last ones to accuse anyone of copying since they had to overcome comparisons to the Jackson 5 and other male groups when they first came out. ‘Candy Girl’ was reminding everyone of ‘ABC’ and then later New Kids on the Block were being compared to New Edition when they came out with songs that sounded a lot like New Edition’s work and it just goes on and on. The comparisons and copy claims don’t begin or end with Beyonce!!

And just cuz someone don’t write or compose stuff doesn’t mean they don’t work hard. It is still challenging to get a dance move perfect or a sung song the way the person that created wants it to be. Let’s see u doing that with as much perfection as beyonce.

Ummmm……it’s……o.k. Beyonce’s videos this era just doesn’t have that “WOW!!!” factor to me. This one kind of looks like a mixture of New Edition, The Jackson 5 and The Temptations with a splash of the Broadway show, “A Chorus Line”. When they had the suits on, it looked like one of those shows that they have in Las Vegas or on a Cruise Line Ship. It just didn’t do it for me.

The video was not bad…different. But “4” is all over the place right now. Her visuals are confusing her audience. She goes out of her way for RTW, but then she starts releasing these recession specials. Beyonce videos always leave you wanting more. Her team is not doing well this era. Her singles are not reaching Top Ten, and when they do gain some status, they fall quickly.

I do agree with others saying that this clip has dropped a little too soon since the last one, (even if it is for the Australian audience), but with Bey being preggo, it’s not like she could pop-drop and lock it to Countdown during a live performance, you know?

So as you can see, Bey has spoken on New Edition being an influence sonically for this album and the videos are visual concepts for what she envision THE MUSICAL ASPECT to be. I appreciate it for that reason and hopefully others can see it for what it is rather than what they want to be.

Beyonce makes very good videos..glad her stuff is different from what everyone else does..she can go simple like this video and still be effective in communicating the music..
