After the 2025 edition of the Golden Globes boasted its highest ratings in five years, its 2026 iteration came in swinging with some noteworthy figures of its own.
Despite stiff and direct competition from the NFL via that “must-see” New England Patriots and Los Angeles Chargers game on NBC, the 2026 Golden Globes scored its own ratings touchdown Sunday night (January 11).
Its third year of airing on CBS, the 83rd annual Golden Globe Awards – hosted by comedienne Nikki Glaser – raked in a handsome 8.7 million viewers.
Although the figures represent a slight dip from last year’s 10.1 million viewers, the Globes were still the most-watched entertainment program of the night.
As if that’s not enough to celebrate, reports have it the ceremony delivered the most “social interactions” in Globes history with some 42 million interactions on Sunday.
