Lil Nas X Seeks Diversion for LAPD Battery Charges, Thanks Fans for Support Amid Legal Drama

Nearly seven months after pleading not guilty to three counts of battery with injury on a police officer and one count of resisting an executive officer, Lil Nas X is reportedly seeking a diversion for the felony case.

Taking to court in Van Nuys, Calif. on Thursday (March 12), the ‘Old Town Road’ hitmaker and his lawyer Christy O’Connor reportedly asked a judge to delay trial so that she could file a motion to transfer his case into an unspecified diversion program.

According to ‘Rolling Stone‘ magazine, the case is due back to court on April 6 with an official decision on next steps.

After the hearing, LNX made a statement to reporters outside the courthouse (as seen in the video above).

“All I wanted to say is to my fans, I really love and I miss you, and I appreciate your support so much, and I can’t wait to be back hugging you guys,” he said.

As previously reported, the rapper-singer (born Montero Hill) was arrested in August after police responded to reports of him allegedly walking around naked along the streets of Los Angeles seemingly under the influence of drugs.

At the time, however, O’Connor denied claims drugs were involved.
