Sorry, They are all boring and none caught my attention. Monica is singing the same styles the same songs from since 17000000. This is getting boring monica. Change your style, change your singing arrangements, the production is zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz. Jasmine surv. should have sung cry instead. The snippets were long enought to say, I am not ready to sleep and i don’t want to hear them on the radio. Monica what happen??????

She covered Jazmine Sullivan’s – Cry. Big mistake!! Doesn’t come close to the original. Jazmine and Missy song ‘until I’m gone’ stand out for me, nothing else!

The cd is called New Life not New music to those who are saying it’s nothing different! Where has Monica had a reggae influenced track previously though??? Different strokes for different folks. Flopped albums have nothing to do with quality usually, its more about popularity and the quanity of people buying can consider it a flop. A lot of albums do well and yet the quality over all sucks. You will either like the songs or you wont which is all personally preference. If you dont like it you aren’t a fan 9 times out of 10 but the Doves still pray for you and love you! i love Monica and I want her to succeed! But she needs to work with better people IMO. I commend her for working with different people besides Missy, but Rico love lyrics are childish for her audience! She need to work with B.C**, Missy, Jermaine Dupree, Ryan Teddar, Dianne Warren, Chuck Harmony, Oak, Sean Garrett, Ne-Yo, Dark child, Harvey Mason, Tank & The Underdogs. It seems like she didnt have much control over New Life, because she said its all of HER experiences, but she didnt write much! I love me some Monica but she gotta come harder to go farther! This need ALL the promo in the world because she doesnt have a #1 let alone a top #20 on RNB like Still Standing did.
I hope that the rest of the album is HOTT and Im still getting my copy!
If you don’t like these songs, then perhaps Monica is not the artist you need to be listening to. I get so sick and tired of people thinking stuff is BORING if it’s not this ol’ trashy garbage that’s polluting music these days. People’s taste in music has changed so drastically over the years and if ANYONE would’ve told me back in the 90’s that people like Rihanna and a song like “cake cake cake cake cake cake” would be the IT thing…I would’ve never believed them. I don’t like her, that song, or 99% of what is out today. So again, if you lookin for something upbeat, cliche, and meant to make you move then, YOU move on because Monica ain’t where it’s at.
Plus, she deserves people who will be on her team for HER and who won’t be fickle because of the material. I could see if the music she sings was trash, but Monica puts out quality stuff. Go away and give other people who appreciate Monica and good quality music more room to enjoy. I LOVE every single sample I heard especially Cry!! I’m ready! NEW LIFE April 10!!
I can see what people mean about it being “boring”. I feel there may be something lacking, but I bet the other tracks will make up for it. Monica will always be a good artist in my eyes.

I feel like this album was rushed…I know she has released better , STRONGER music…Monica, you can do better than this…at least I hope so…These songs are OK, but…it stops there. “Cry” is the standout to me…I feel like ATFY, IABTM, and UIG were better songs…Hope Monica does well…
One more thing that I’ll say…It bothers me that some of you monica fans assume Brandy fans are simply hating on her because some of them may think these snippets are “boring”. Talk about insecurity. Newsflash! Some of her own stans/fans aren’t impressed with it either! Please refrain from starting a stan war with Brandy fans, it’s not a good look for Monica, especially when her album is due in a week.

i’ve already given a mouthful but i’ll say it again. the snippets were nothin spectacular. she has pushed this cd back for more than a few reasons. not even the collab with Bran will help this. the production is generic. her singing is watered down. coming from the best r&b singer we had in her age bracket, shes lost her drive for singing. but i’ve seen this before. good to get married and begin a new life but don’t put ur god given talent on the backburner cause u’re comfortable right now.
