Previous reports may have attached singer-actress Lady Gaga to portraying the “White Queen” Emma Frost in a forthcoming installment of Marvel’s live action ‘X-Men’ franchise, but in the end it’s DC that’s nabbed her for the highly anticipated 2024 sequel to ‘Joker.’

During promotion of her critically acclaimed 2021 film ‘House of Gucci,’ Gaga waxed honest about the potential of starring in any superhero-related movie.

“I might, yeah. It’s really hard for me to say that I wouldn’t do something,” she said in December about starring in a DC or Marvel film. “I think mostly I’m not interested in doing things that don’t ultimately have something meaningful to say.” 

It appears she’s found just the perfect fit as reports have it she’s been tapped to star opposite Joaquin Phoenix in ‘Joker: Folie à deux’ (the forthcoming sequel to 2019’s ‘Joker’ which won Phoenix a Best Actor Academy Award).

Not much is known about Gaga’s role, but it’s speculated she’ll be portraying the lead’s longtime partner in crime Harley Quinn.

The ‘Joker’ follow-up is slated to hit theaters Oct. 4, 2024 – exactly five years after the release date of its billion-dollar grossing predecessor.
